Go For It Nakamura-kun is definitely one of my favorite anime’s of 2026. Down to the comedy, and the struggles of being introverted, especially when it comes to crushing on someone.
Seeing the hate online for it makes me sad, and even more sad to know that it probably won’t ever be completed. So going back to using my 15 year old brain I’ve decided to get into writing fan-fiction again, here is my take on a happy ending for Nakamura after their high school years end.

hoka naranu sakura no tanomi dakara na — it's a request from none other than sakura, after all.
karu sugite kata sukashi kuratta hodo da ze — it's so light (i.e. easy) it's actually such a letdown.
nan nara itsudemo 'kane ga hoshii' to ka 'kuruma ga hoshii' toka areba itte kurete ii kara na — and if you wanted, you could just go and tell me "i want money" or "i want a car" anytime, okay?
note: "kata sukashi kuratta" literally translates to "was hit by a shoulder dodge." he's basically saying he was so ready to give it his all, but it turned out to be so simple.
note: they're both technically correct but this feels more accurate with endo being dramatic, and sakura stammering is very important to me lmfao

Sorry for the long post but I have a lot of thoughts about Endosaku
Here is the thing about Yamato Endo. This man has spent a decade hopelessly in love with someone who does not, and will not, return those feelings. AT BEST chicka tolerates Endo, and Endo fully accepts this. To him this is how love is supposed to work. He tells Sakura he loves him only because he asked him directly and said he he does he assumes he's not going to see Sakura again because their business is finished.
On the other hand you have Sakura who is actively trying to find his place in the world and is desperate to make connections with people. He hates being judged for things he can't control and makes it a priority for him to understand others and form his own opinions about them.
When Endo confesses Sakura doesn't dismiss it or chaulk it up to him being crazy. He seriously considers it and leaves himself open to figuring out his own feelings in response. Endo doesn't ask Sakura out because to him there is no way Sakura will return his feelings, that's not how it works. But Sakura surprises him by taking the initiative to say he'd like to get to know him better and spend more time with him and then apparently gets his phone number from Ume.
They have been texting for months now and Endo is so patient with Sakura. He never gets mad when he doesn't respond because to him Sakura responding isn't the point. But then one day Sakura calls him, something he never would have expected. Something Chicka has NEVER done.
Part of Endo gets excited but he also knows that this isn't Sakura returning his feelings. He knows Sakura needs something and hes prepared to give him anything he wants. But of course he's going to take advantage of the situation a little bit and try to extend the amount of time he can spend with Sakura.
To Endo loving someone means giving them everything they want and expecting nothing in return. That is the future they would have had if he succeeded in taking Sakura away from Bofurin. But now because Sakura is with Bofurin, he is learning to love and has the possibility of changing their dynamic in a real way.
Got some progress in for my Endosaku draft and wanted to share. I've never written boyxboy action but I think I'm getting into a nice flow here...ლ(・﹏・ლ) Will be posted on my AO3 to kick off my account so have a little peek once I've got it done...(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
