Today is my teamâs post day for the Tony/Rhodey minibang! I got to work with the amazingly talented @ladyjayewrites and I made this picture and one other as part of our collaboration! You can read her story at the link, itâs got incredible world building and a really exciting plot and an absolutely perfect exploration of Rhodeyâs character and I canât recommend it highly enough!!! Itâs one of my all time favorite Tony/Rhodey fics.

We have less than 28 hours left of Auction Week, and bids are coming in fast. With the clock ticking down, we want to help bidders strategize for the final day.
If you canât afford the auctions you want or you have a tight budget, here are three ways that you can still get or stay involved as a bidder:
Look at our golden needle auctions, many of which have affordable minimum bids. We have only 26 remaining, down from 75 in just two days. Thatâs amazing!
Go through individual categories on our Auctions page. Doing this makes it easier to see auctions that are within your budget; this is extremely useful for smaller categories such as podfics and digital works.
Join a pod bid. For more information on how to start or get involved in a pod bid, click here. Many bidders have pooled their funds together to win a specific auction, and several creators have announced that theyâre open to receiving pod bid requests for a variety of prompts such as fic ideas that a writer mentioned they always wanted to write but never got around to writing.
If you havenât done so already, come join our Discord server, where creators can promote their auctions and match with interested bidders, and bidders can share ideas and check out auctions. Our Discord has been busy all week, and we know itâll be a lot of (crazy) fun once we get into the final hours of bidding!
Forgot that you have plans during the last few hours of the auction? Enlist a proxy bidder!
Ask mutuals or friends who are also participating in the auction or donât mind helping you bid to bid on your behalf (keep in mind that the auction ends at 11:59 PM ET on October 26 (what time is that for me?). MTH mods will not proxy bid for anyone, but if you canât find someone to help you, feel free to mention that youâre looking for a proxy bidder on our Discord server.
You canât take back a bid once itâs placed and should you win the auction, you must donate the winning bid amount, so try to find someone you can trust as your proxy. Once you do, let your proxy know the highest amount youâre willing to bid on each auction.
To have someone bid on your behalf, you can use one of these methods:
Give them your marveltrumpshate.com account login info, so your proxy can bid under your name.
Have your proxy create their own account (e.g., âproxyforyournamehereâ) to help you place bids if they would like.
Keep in mind that to make an account, youâll need access to the email address used, so if you wonât be available, you may wish to use your proxyâs email address instead of yours. This means the winner emails will go to your proxy, whoâll need to forward them to you. Once the auction is over, youâll need to contact us with your donation information and details on your proxy bid, so that weâll be able to put you in contact with your creator(s).
If your proxy already has an account and would rather use their own account to help you place bids, they must be very careful in keeping track of which bids theyâve placed for you and which bids are their own. Your proxy will need to forward winner emails to you if they use their own email, just like they would if they created a new account.

When Tony looks back to see Rhodey fall out of the sky, he already knows he won't catch him. He tries anyway, flying into a steep nosedive, putting everything he has into his thrusters. He's mere metres away when Rhodey crashes into the ground, and Tony's heart crashes with it. He's panicking, his lungs won't work properly, but he forces himself to work. Rhodey might still be alive, the armour he made might have saved him. Shaking fingers lift away the faceplate and reveal Rhodey, gray, eyes closed, blood in the corner of his mouth. Tony gasps and tries to feel for a pulse. His armour doesn't let him.
"FRIDAY," he says weakly. "Scan for... Scan for vital signs."
"He's alive," FRIDAY reports. "But I am detecting severe internal bleeding."
"Call the jet," Tony orders. Several feet away, Cap's friend lands. Tony thinks his name is Sam. He remembers a similar thing happened to him - Steve was telling him. Tony doesn't particularly care, not when his Rhodey is lying broken at his feet.
Comments: It's all gonna be good!! There hopefully won't be to much angst. I appreciate you!!Â
#2 -Â Icarus laughed
Major Pairings: Rhodey/Tony, No other romances, thought there's some focus on the platonic relationships between Rhodey & the rest of the Avengers, and Natasha, and to a lesser extent Pepper, Happy, and Edwin Jarvis.

Snippet: The first time he put on the armor, he almost felt crushed by its weight. Not literally; not in a tangible way. It was light on his shoulders, a wonder of technology. The weight heâd meant was of a more metaphorical sort âit hadnât hit him, right until the very last second, that he would become Iron Man, and how that would feel.
But flying with it âpracticing next to the damn God of Thunder, no lessâ⌠oh, that had been easy. Joyful. The first time since Tony left them that an honest, deep hearty laugh had passed his lips.
Of course, everything went to shit the first time he took it out with the intention of using it as intended.
Comments: The fic takes place in Earth-616, and it takes inspiration from early Tales of Suspense and Avengers issues (though I don't consider having read them necessary).

So Jim would have to tell him what he'd been thinking about, also known as, his personal mushy minute of remembering their past, going through some memories that popped into his mind seemingly without logic but always with that same theme of "Damn I love this man", playing in the background of his mind like a sonata.
Time to get a deep breath in before Tony would grin and call him an old sap.
One didn't renew their vows every other day, this was a big fucking deal. And he was ready for it, oh so ready to see Tony in a wedding tux again, and to vow to him, one more time, maybe not even the last, that this was it, that he was it, that Jim would never have dreamed of a better life than the one they shared.
But if he could please remember to lower the toilet lid once in a while it'd be great, still.
Comments: This will be my first time writing these two and I'm super excited to do so. I hope we can work together at a level that will be comfortable for both of us and that you won't hesitate to tell me if you have ideas for the fic etc... :)

Snippet: There was a figure sitting on the rocky outcropping. Barely more than a shadow in the soft pre-dawn light, yet unmistakably looking at Tony. Waiting for him. Could be mistaken for a human from this distance, except for the smooth curve from the waist down over the edge of the rocks.
Breath held, Tony approached slowly, not cautious so much as reverent, disbelieving. All that time spent half doubting himself and his theories, only to be here now. He was acutely aware as he walked that he was now one of maybe a hundred people on the planet to ever come face to face with a mermaid.
Or a merman, he amended as he finally drew close and knelt down to be at eye level. It was probably rude, but he couldnât help his wandering eyes, the way he gazed at the merman in front of him, looking over all of him, taking in details like he was in a dreamâmaybe he wasâand desperate to remember it all when he woke.
