we were moving so fast...
I love the way their color palettes revolve around one another.
In that last gif, as they’re breaking apart, Stede is all in dark colors while Ed is all in light. But they’re not perfect white and black—the colors are muddied and edging toward gray.
Compare that to the day they met: Stede in pure white and Ed in pure black. Or when they’re both at the academy, together in light colors.
They are yin and yang, land and sea, a damn lighthouse—in a constant revolution of light and dark.
They’re two men who think in extremes, and the thing the need most is to find the middle ground, the true gray space where they can stop spinning and be together.
Ed and Stede looking at each other in a way that makes me go insane [12/∞]
I need Mary and Doug to show up at the inn so we can have an exchange that goes like:
Mary: Stede?!
Stede: Mary?!
Ed: Mary?
Stede: *remembering dinner at Anne and Mary Read's house* Ed...
Mary: *doing the math* Ed?
Stede: *affirmatively* Ed!
Ed: *confused, pointing at himself* Ed.
Doug: *also confused* ....I'll go wait in the carriage.
If you were ever good at anything, go and do that.
there’s a part of me that really loves the idea that ed can’t write (or just hates writing) for whatever reason. stede is still keeping a daily diary whilst at the inn, and recommends ed do the same to keep sane in between visits from the crew and guests (which are far and few in between) because it’s a healthy coping mechanism. whereas ed doesn’t want to fuckin do this and instead finds like a small animal to recount his days to. one day stede catches him bitching about something he said to a rabbit, and ed’s like “this is greg, my secretary”
first they made izzy part of the ship by giving him the unicorn leg (the crew inseparably wove a part of their home into him)
then they made him part of the inn by burying him in front of it (they inseparably wove him into ed&stede's home)
then they connected the ship to the inn by making the unicorn leg his grave marker
i can't tell if this is a good or bad thing but it's making me insane
izzy hands + authority at the republic of pirates
I love you. I love you. I know. I know that. bonus:
"Don't do it, Stede. Killing in cold blood...You can't come back from that."
