A small smile spread across Jason’s face and he gave a slight nod. It was a breath of fresh air to hear someone say that. Sure, he didn’t see why. He wasn’t the best of people after all, but it made him feel good nonetheless. He was speechless, however. He wasn’t good at responding in situations such as this one. He opened his mouth to speak but no words managed to escape so he chuckled instead as he proceeded to shake his head.

Something about Roy’s words seemed to move something within Jason. It was as if a gear had been jammed for so long and whatever was causing it finally came free allowing things to work properly once more. His eyes had been fixed elsewhere but he slowly looked up to face his friend.
