Crochet The Famous 'It's Just A Phase Wrap' 👉 https://buff.ly/3ioy7i9
btw I've found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it's really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
I made a baby blanket for a pregnant woman at work and I went back and forth about it like “is this weird? To like hand make something for someone when we’re like friendly acquaintances not like bffs. God why are you so fucking awkward.” Anyway I gave it to her and she said she loved it and in the back of my head I’m like yea she’s nice and probably just humoring the weirdo. Well she texted me a picture this weekend of a scrunchy faced newborn at the hospital wrapped in the blanket I made her. And I’m like. Wow. She loved it so much she took it with her! To the hospital! To give birth! She wrapped her newborn it! I am just so filled with love and joy right now.
People will love the things you make them. Because you thought of them and you cared.
Thunderchickens
Totally @gaviiadastra ‘s fault.
Original pattern can be found here by Bag-O-Day Crochet
I give you Thunderchicken potstands (because they aren’t big enough to be potholders due to the fact I didn’t have the right yarn). All mistakes are mine as I went off pattern and attempted to do my own thing - which is always scary :D
I just realised I stuffed up the pattern in the second one - play spot the difference. :D Also, Gordon would be happy as Four is actually bigger than Two somehow ::scratches head::
Nutty
(Twas fun :D )
So, I mooved to the new place, and now I live alone for the first time in my life, because i was studying for 20 years of my 28-year old life (11 at school, 7 at university and 2 at residency). And I thought, that having a friend would be nice. And the first thing I've remembered, was a companion cube from portal series.
I am really proud of the result, it wasn't easy for me, to come up with the scheme.
It was our triumph
I'm making a note here
"Huge success"
Thank you guys so much for your respond to the Cuby ❤️❤️❤️ (i thought, that giving my friend a proper name would be sweet)
So some people asked for the scheme, so I'll try to give you a little guide with my process photos and internet scheme for some parts.
1. Make 6 hearts, using a scheme below, and 6 circles with hdc. Sew them together. I used 3mm chrochet for them.
2. Make 6 square parts, using the scheme. It will be easier to start with the hearts to know the size of future square parts. With the same yarn i used 4mm chrochet.
3. Sew the circle+heart parts with squares. Remember to measure the sides around the circles to be equal. After this, sew the pink line pattern on the sides around the circle.
4. Connect the sides, using crochet
5. Making side decor. For the side parts make simple details like on the scheme (i don't know, how to describe it correctly, lack of language skills))
For the corner parts I came up with this scheme. I'm sorry for the picture, but I'm also not really good at making them for other people (most of the time, i can understand my terrible drawings). With the same yarn i used 4mm chrochet for the both types of the decor parts.
6. Connecting the decor to the cube body, and voi-la, you made a companion cube :3
Whoops, my hook slipped.
Embroidery is such a fun hobby 🧵🪡
Honestly I am pretty impressed with myself.

Cardigan complete!
I am super happy with how this turned out. The buttons are on the 'wrong' side and the didn't have enough of the colour I wanted, however this really works.
I enjoyed making this and look forward to wearing it. It's warmer than I expected it to be too.
The fit is great and works despite not having the right tension or needle size. I'm definitely up to doing this kind of thing again. Particularly because I've got 5 balls of the same yarn left.
This project took 2 weeks.
Pattern: Sirdar Indie Mens Cardigans Knitting Pattern 9542
Yarn: 100g King Cole Gypsy Super Chunky in Freesia.
Cardigan update 12
All the seams are complete. I have a cardigan!
Time to weave in the ends (such fun) and buy and attach buttons!
Cardigan update 11
The first side seam is complete! I watched a video to confirm how to do it and it's turned out so well. You can barely tell there's a seam.
So close now!
Cardigan update 10
The sleeves are attached! I had a few false starts where I had to take it back but it looks so good, especially for my first time.
Time for the side seams. It's so close to being finished now! 😁
