Goodbye yall I'm starting fresh and good luck everyone
once in a while i obsess over Bilbo & Thorin again, so in case that's your jam, here's another fanfic I won't ever write!
After a time in the Undying Lands, Bilbo dies peacefully and finds himself in Yavannah' green fields with every other hobbit that has ever lived. His parents, family, friends, everyone. It's beautiful and plentiful and happy.. and it's also full of hobbits wanting to make social calls.
Anyway, one day, while tending to his garden that always makes perfect tomatoes (how boring!), he thinks how nice it would be if his afterlife and the dwarven afterlife were connected.
And dwarves love to live underground. So...
He digs.
And digs. And digs more.
Since time, hunger and exhaustion are not a thing anymore, there's nothing that keeps him going back up, so he digs until he hits rocks, and then he gets a pick axe and keeps digging.
Until one day, he hits through nothing. He find himself in the ceiling of a huge cavern, cut into stone in very dwarven architecture.
Thousands of dwarves raise their eyes, completely stunned.
'Huh, hello? Are these the halls of Mahal? I'm looking for dwarves. Thirteen of them-- not anyone, thirteen very specific dwarves.'
And from the crowd, thirteen voices start yelling at the same time.
"BILBO?"
"BILBO!!"
"HOW DID YOU GET UP THERE I THOUGHT YOU DIDN'T LIKE HEIGHTS??"
"DAMMIT PLUG THE HOLE SOME OF THEMS DOWN HERE HAVEN'T SEEN SUNLIGHT IN OVER A MILLENIUM, YOU'LL BURN THEIR EYES OUT!!"
"NOT BEFORE YOU THROW DOWN SOME OF THAT CHEESE THOUGH I HAVEN'T BEEN AT PEACE-"
"I *TOLD* YOU HE COULD GET INTO ANY KEEP NO MATTER HOW WELL-GUARDED, PAY UP."
"STEAL ANYTHING GOOD LATELY, MASTER BURGLAR?"
"WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU DURING THE- oh? Concussion? Well that's anticlimactic."
"HAVE YOU SEEN MY SON UP THERE? GIMLI, REMEMBER? RED HAIR, BEAUTIFUL EYES. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND HIM HERE AND I'M WORRIED."
"KEEP DIGGING, KILI HAS A BOAT TO GET THROUGH-"
"DID YOU SAY 'DILDO'?"
"HOW ARE YOU STILL DEAF IN THE AFTERLIFE OLD MAN??"
"HEY THORIN IT'S YOUR BOYFR- Oh, he's already halfway up the column. Well. This will liven things up.
I was feeling dysphoric and when I looked down at my packer made of socks and said penis I started laughing and feeling better like brain what you doing??
I think toy doctors are so nice actually like i remember being a little heartbroken kid when one of my beloved stuffed animals got old and torn up and my mom just threw him out. And i know what it would have meant to me, to have someone lovingly stitch him back up instead so i could love him just a little longer. And I'm really glad there are little kids out there who get to see pictures of their stuffed animals and dolls with little fake hospital beds and casts as they "rest & heal" before returning to them good as new. Like what a sweet thing to do with your life.
This is so nice 🥺
It’s also so good for normalising the idea of illness, hospitals and recovery not being bad or scary places, even if sometimes they’re not very nice, because the people there are doing kind things to make you better so you can go back home. No one knows which kids are going to end up dealing with major traumatic illnesses or injuries, and having a safe framework for the idea of a hospital, a safe, painless, vicarious hospital experience is such valuable preparation
my city has an annual children's hopital "picnic day" fundraiser event where theres a stage for singers/dancers, food trucks/carts, etc, and a big tent dedicated to restoring stuffies,
in my memory it was all volunteers dressed up in scrubs and fake instruments to test your stuffie and even if nothing was requiring mending you could go thru and have them give ur stuffie a clean bill of health
i must've been like 8 when i last went but its such a happy memory and i still have the bunny i loved enough to bring there
We are forced to live in a system that steals from us daily, Kill snitch culture.
Important things to keep in mind!
- never take from ‘mom and pop’ type store. Its likely you’ll actually harm them, whereas taking from a walmart wont effect much.
- never take items that a worker is assigned to monitor (usually super expensive items), theyll be in trouble for it. and its usually a minimum wage worker and usually they lose hours or pay, or they even get fired.
- similar to the above, never take things that are usually locked up for the above reason
- if its a store you know gives their near-expiration products to workers/charity, try to avoid taking the near expiration products.
- if youre taking clothing, avoid leaving hangers. it sounds weird, but itll make it seem like it was more likely an error in the computer than a theft, since the empty hanger sitting there will seem suspicious.
- also for clothing, try not to take more than one item at once, as it will look suspicious if theres 10 medium shirts missing, and it won’t be written off as just a stocking error. and it will lead to workers being penalized
- basically just always consider ‘will this harm a worker’ and if the answer is yes then dont do it
like i was homeless for a while when i was younger and i tried to follow those guidelines to avoid doing harm to people who were probably not much better off than me while trying to get food for myself.
Holy crap, is there like an unspoken thieves code or something?!
it’s a thing. I won’t even lie. I watched someone slip a nursing exam book in their bag at the store I worked at. She made eye contact with me and the blood drained from her face. I simply gave her a sympathetic nod and walked away.
I live in a small town and I knew she was a waitress at a hotel my sister works at, and people at that hotel don’t tip well during off season. Nursing exam books are 50+ bucks. Being a med student myself, I didn’t even breathe a word, and when inventory came up later and the book was missing, I suggested it was likely a mislabel, and the manager wrote it off.
Sometimes, thievery is a necessity. Don’t send people to jail over petty things.
theft for many is survival in this system and taking away from multi-billion dollar companies that are a part of the oppressive capitalist system
I love this post so much. Like, an unbelievable amount.
And they say there’s no honour among thieves.
There’s honour among honourable thieves. A thief is still a person, with the capability for good and bad, just like everyone else. The moment someone assumes either good or bad of someone, they perpetuate that belief into reality.
Never been a big part of this myself but I approve and shall pass it on
Gonna use these cheat codes when I’m broke and on the streets @travalerray
Good luck with that
If you’re white, realize that Black people are more closely monitored than white people in stores and use that privilege.

If we were to give any tidbit of advice to any would-be shoplifters (aside from the Golden Rule that you never, ever steal from mom-and-pop
I forgot to add this last night. Don’t steal from Target. They’ll let you get away with the theft until they have enough to charge you with a felony, they keep track with what you steal between stores, and they have the most proficient loss prevention systems.
-fae
hi yeah reading the article and WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK
In fact, Target runs one of country’s top-rated forensic laboratories, which specializes in solving “organized retail crimes committed at Target stores through video and image analysis, latent fingerprint and computer forensics.”
Scarier, though, is the methodical way in which Target goes about building cases against repeat shoplifters. In a 2016 Reddit post, a user named StiggyPop recounted his experience of being a drug-addict who made money by stealing and flipping Blu-Rays from Target. After four months, he was apprehended by a team of high-level LPs who knew everything about him, from where his apartment was located to the specific store he used as a fence
Other Reddit users shared similar stories. As it turns out, alongside their forensic team and top-of-the-line, in-store facial recognition technology, Target is known for actually letting shoplifters get away with their bounty…up until they reach the monetary threshold for a felony shoplifting charge.
FUCK I love him
the experience creating art on tumblr and twitter is so wildly different because it’s like
twitter: you make one post that does not cater to the incredibly specific niche interest you have catered and 15 of your followers scatter like mice
tumblr: half my dash is DC Comics. I do not remember following a DC blog. I follow several DC fanartists and apparently have been for several years. I have no idea when they became DC artists. I have never read a DC comic nor do I have any interest in doing so. I will not be unfollowing.
I truly truly believe award shows nominating someone who has passed and then not giving them the award is horrendous. You’re going to get their family’s hopes up. You’re going to make them dress up and sit through the ceremony. You’re going to put them on display and say “here are the people who lost a loved one, maybe they’ll get to bring home a trophy for that loved one!” and then not give it to them? that’s fucked up. yes, this is about chadwick.
everything that i know about this tumblr bug
⊹・maybe “bug” isn’t accurate, but as of now, that is what it appears to be.
⊹・basically a lot of users are being logged out, both on mobile on desktop, and are being requested to change their password, yet are unable to.
⊹・imo that logging out issue seems to be stemming from the issue with some custom codes; when you go on desktop to your customisation page and have had the issue from the previous point, you’ll receive an error message saying, “your custom theme has been reset because we detected some suspicious code.”
⊹・this is really weird as there’s no consistent pattern (e.g. let’s say there are two blogs with the same theme; this does not necessarily mean that both will face this issue), and even themes part of the theme garden (meaning that they have been checked and approved by staff) are receiving this error.
⊹・as of now, it seems that this is only affecting main blogs, not sideblogs.
⊹・it is possible that your theme can be recovered using the theme recovery; please note that this has not been effective for everyone.
⊹・i’d advise everyone to go to their customisation page, and copy & paste their codes (for both blog themes and pages) to google docs, their notes app, pastebin, etc.
Muppet Seymour throwing some love at you 💝
Perfect
tumblr is kicking people out of their blogs, making them reset their passwords and wiping their blog themes stating it had "suspicious code"
go into your blog themes HTML code RIGHT NOW and copy & paste EVERYTHING into a new google docs or whatever you use so you can save it and not have it wiped from tumblrs fucking incompetence at running a website
IF YOUVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS! USE TUMBLRS THEME RECOVERY TOOL
HEADCANON; ANIME SEYMOUR DIED AND CYANA WAS DISTRAUGHT SO SHE BROUGHT HIM BACK AS AN IMMORTAL MUPPET
Oh. this. This is evil.
This would imply since Seymour turned into Muppet, they cannot eat or drink anything. That includes teas or caffeine
Why do you think they scream?
What if cyana was a himbo
If you're curious what this cursed oc name is,
It's
Cyonk
Billie Joe Armstrong literally wrote a song about coming out as bisexual as a teenager, and then like two years later wrote one that was pretty much all about dressing up in drag and getting fucked by/fucking guys, and y'all STILL say he’s a “straight ally” because he married a woman??
The same goes for Freddy Mercury and David Bowie. Both were openly bi. Both wrote (multiple) songs about their queerness. Both are pigeonholed as either “gay” or “straight”. They were both neither of those things.
hey remember when freddy mercury wrote a literal song about wanting to be allowed to be bisexual without it being a big deal and was incredibly obvious about it and then straighties went “oh lol look at how quirky queen is writing a song all about bicycles!”
This also happened to p!nk, she’s openly bisexual but since she’s married to a man and has had two babies with him, people say that she’s straight.
Like, yeah she does a lot and shows a lot of support for the LGBT+ community but she isn’t just an ally, she’s part of that community.
Biphobia is completely real and so many Bi wlw and mlm are assigned the “straight” role when they just ARENT.
Also let’s add Lady Gaga to the mix. She’s repeatedly shit on for Born this Way for not being part of the community when she is, in fact, openly bisexual and writes song about being LGBT
[Image 1: the “It’s free real estate” guy with the altered caption “It’s Biphobia”
Image 2: a picture of Chris Fleming with the altered caption “Okay, was anybody going to tell me that ‘Bicycle Race’ was about being bi or was I just supposed to learn that from a post about Billie Joe Armstrong myself?” End ID.]
its baffling that bisexuality is considered ‘invisible’ when theres a whole pantheon of the most loud rhinestone bedazled spectacles of entertainment being openly vocal that theyre bi its like a simpsons bit where everyone ignores the blinking neon sign
So, India is dying.
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.
To put things in perspective,
1 USD = 75.22 Indian rupees
1 euro = 90.99 Indian rupees
1 pound = 104.40 Indian rupees
Even a small amount of 5 or 7 or 10 of foreign currency will help a lot. Our government has essentially abandoned us. People have turned to social media for help. WhatsApp groups and DMs on twitter/insta is where we find help. Our helpline is a Google doc. Situation is so dire that hospitals are discharging patients due to lack of oxygen. Every night the same story, oxygen running out in hospitals, citizens running around to somehow arrange for oxygen with minutes to spare. Last night, we had manged to get oxygen to a hospital with 14min to spare.
Please, PLEASE help. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Reblogging with more links. Listen to @groundzero-and-deku ☝️ they know what they're talking about.
Some of you in the US have asked what else you can do. I'm not the best person to answer this since I'm not from there, but I do know that Biden is being urged to ship supplies to India. Maybe a more informed person can chime in with how best you can help but calling your representative and registering your concern sounds like a good starting point.
From one democracy to another, thank you. Please keep this going, you're all amazing.
Reblogging one more time

Y'all, this is a good time to mention that I am not affiliated with any charity or donation center and am not receiving donations on behalf of anyone.
This is a list of resources compiled partly by me and more importantly, by other people who have a better grasp on the situation than myself.
They are to the best of our knowledge great resources but I still encourage you to do your research and put your money where you believe it will be used best.
If you find more ways to help or donate, add them in a reblog - let's get as much information out there as possible.
Much love and please stay safe

UPDATE:
The number of new cases has almost hit the 350,000 mark. The total number of covid cases in the country is just shy of 17 million. This is the situation as of 25 April 2021.
The active tally is nearing the 27-lakh mark .The country has so far administered 14,09,16,417 anti-Covid jabs
Things are dire. People are largely on their own now and help, if any, is yet to come.
President Biden is being urged to ease restrictions or remove to embargo on raw materials that could be critical in India's fight against the virus.
Just a while ago, the US government committed to helping with "a small supply of inputs and components from US companies for production of COVID-19 vaccines in India".
By Andrea Shalal WILMINGTON, Del. (Reuters) -The United States is deeply concerned by a massive surge in coronavirus cases in India and will
There are no specifics yet and time is of the essence.
Friends in the US, we know you're in the middle of your own fight. We want you safe.
But a stockpile of tens of millions of vaccines exists in the US, a fraction of which could make all the difference to India right now.
No one needs to die. Things are bad but Indian lives can still be saved without costing American ones.
We've been allies for decades.
We need your help.
Please, please, please find it in your heart to help.
Call your local representative and register your concern. Urge them to offer India aid by way of donating some of the vaccine stockpiles and removing the ban on raw material exports so lives can be saved.
Take this message to other platforms. Spread the word. Those of you on Twitter, please use your voice to promote #indianeedsoxygen.
Most importantly, DONATE WHERE YOU CAN. As little as 5 dollars can make a difference right now.
Example: here is a screenshot from the page for Making the Difference on Donatekart
As little 7 dollars can get someone a bed or an oxygen tank.
Here's a list of independent NGOs and charities that are largely accepting international donations. REMEMBER: OXYGEN is the need of the hour.
I've heard from multiple sources that the government-run PM CARES fund is not directing funds to where they're needed and while I don't have exact information, I would advise you to avoid this platform out of caution.
Some of you are rightly concerned about where your money is going.
Again, I do not represent any charity or NGO, am not affiliated with anyone and am not involved in any stage in the collection or distribution of your donations. I'm just a person doing whatever she can so please do a little bit of research to help you identify the best place to put your donation.
Charity Navigator is a good place to get a good overview of your NGOs.
At the very least, please don't let this post die. Don't let more people die. Keep reblogging and yelling about it on social media.
As someone else pointed out in the notes, there is no central helpline. All we have is each other and the little we can do in the face of this chaos.
We're resorting to social media to get help and spread awareness. We have literally the same tools you do. Please don't let this die yet. Please get the word out if you can't do anything else.
Thank you so much and please, keep us in your thoughts.
Also linking to @covid19-india-resources where you can find even more comprehensive info

UPDATE on 26 April, 2021
Help is coming but we're nowhere near safe yet!
Here is a list of all countries who are currently helping and what they're doing for India's crisis
Germany is trying to get oxygen to India
Efforts from the US and UK are underway
The US Government has reacted to India's pleas and is committing to send supplies of testing kits, PPEs and ventilators. They're also looking to help BioE (India's vaccine manufacturer) expand supply.
NO COMMITMENT TO RELEASE THE UNUSED STOCKPILE OF 20 million VACCINES YET FROM THE BIDEN ADMIN.
"When we make decisions on what we're gonna do with additional vaccines, about exporting them, we'll announce them," said Anthony Slavitt - White House Advisor in an interview with CNN (Source: link right above).
Nonetheless, all the international efforts are heartening and will make a lot of difference.
But even as I write this post, the total number of cases in India is 17.3 million, 195,000 people are dead and the number of new cases continues to rise - last seen at 354,000
These numbers will not go down anytime soon, not with what we're working with.
To what extent this one post I made out of total desperation has helped in spreading the word about our terrible situation and in generating donations wherever possible, I will never know.
But I want you to know how grateful this one Indian is to all of you who reblogged, used your platforms, opened your wallets, found the goodness in your heart to help and didn't give up on us.
Thank you.
Shukriya.
Lakh lakh dhanyavad.
We're nowhere close to done yet, so I am once again requesting you to please keep up with your efforts to get the word out there, make noise and help us reach the right people.

Friends in the UK: Khalsa Aid is an NGO based in Berkshire trying their hardest to get oxygen into the country. Please get in touch with them to help or donate.
Please, please, please donate where possible.
IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT AUTHENTICITY OF CHARITIES HERE'S ANOTHER COLLECTION OF VERIFIED ONES
An oxygen cylinder costs roughly $ 7 right now. So does a hospital bed. You will save literal lives with just a little generosity. There is no such thing as adequate help right now.
Friendly reminder that I am not affiliated with any of the above listed charities, do not handle your donations at any stage and strongly invite you to do your research and verify them to your satisfaction.
Friends in the US: We still need your help in so many ways.
Vaccines are the need of the hour.
The Biden Administration is still considering the release of tens of millions of unused vaccines that could save lives all over India
Get in touch with your local representatives. Register your concern.
Take to twitter and your other socials, make noise, use #indianeedsoxygen and demand action.
We would never demand an exchange of your lives for ours. But hoarding unused vaccines at a time like this is near criminal. Help us make this right, please. People are still dying and they need every little bit of help that can be spared.
#that is the most venomous native lizard in north america
so i was compelled to look that up and
A) the most venomous lizard in north america is called the Gila Monster
B) I’m no expert obviously but that boy there sure looks like a Gila Monster
C) from the Gila Monster wikipedia article, here is the funniest doctor that ever lived:
"I have never been called to attend a case of Gila monster bite, and I don't want to be. I think a man who is fool enough to get bitten by a Gila monster ought to die. The creature is so sluggish and slow of movement that the victim of its bite is compelled to help largely in order to get bitten."
–Dr. Ward, Arizona Graphic, September 23, 1899
