“It’s what we’re here for, Ri.” Aiden said with a smile “I’m just glad they think she’s going to be okay.” Alec said

“I understand that, I don’t want to either, I don’t wanna get my hopes up too much.”

Alec looked at his husband “Well this is good news so far.”

“I think I am too, thank you for all you did for us.” the man said “It’s no problem, she was a wonderful patient and I have a good feeling she’s going to be strong.”

“Do you foresee any problems for her later in life?”

“No, I don’t see that happening, the aorta has been repaired now and shouldn’t give her any problems.” the doctor said as Alec looked at Rian

"I think I'm out of questions."

“So is she out of the woods completely?”

“We do want to watch her for three days just to be sure everything looks good but so far everything is going very well, she’s asleep right now.”

"Do you foresee any problems for her later in life?"

He continued walking for a bit in silence. “We probably should head back; hopefully, they’ll be out soon.”

As Alec walked back into the room the doctor was standing there “Surgery is finished and everything went very well, she’s a very strong girl.”

"So is she out of the woods completely?"

“I just hate that even when she’s out it’s still not guaranteed she’ll be okay right away.”

Alec nodded “I do too, I guess we just take it day by day, we hope for the best.”

Alec nodded standing up “Lets go find a snack.” he said putting his hand on his husbands back

He smiled walking out. "I really just wanted some air."
