Dinner
So dinner, for €16 I get a three course meal, a 1 litre bottle of water, a bottle of Rioja, well it is the Rioja region, and bread and coffee. This travelling lark is fun!
Day two Spain 2014
The journey over to #Bilbao was calm, I slept well and woke refreshed. Showered and changed it was time for breakfast and to kill some time before we docked. My only worry was if the bike would play up. It didn't. The journey out if Bilbao was a continuous stop/start of traffic lights, before I got out onto the more open sweeping roads of North Spain. The route was fine, gentle bends, good road surface and the occasional car and overtake. I stopped for coffee and water, a chance to practice the broken Spanish I had been learning, before undertaking the last hours ride into Logrono. What a lovely route that was. Logrono reached, a chance to go out and have a loon around in the warm rain, yes it rained. But what a lovely city. And now a chance to have dinner.
WSBK Tour
A bright morning greeted me as I finished packing in preparation for my trip to #Aragon, #Spain to see the #WorldSuperbikes. Having uncovered the #Ducati I decided to start it as the battery had been flat a few days before and it had been on charge. A bang and pop and a lot of smoke didn’t bode well, please start I chanted to the motorcycle gods, who answered by allowing the bike to kick into life. Thank heavens, So I decided to take it for a 10 minute ride to clear out the cobwebs of a winter under cover. Now warmed up, I loaded up the panniers and headed south towards Portsmouth. It was nice to be back on the bike and I soon fell into a rhythm of right hand roll on and off allowing the v twin to am stretch is legs. It was good to be back with my old friend. I made short time of the A3 and after a fuel stop, arrived at #BrittanyFerries for my 24 hour trip over to #Bilbao. The bike now secure below, a so far smooth journey, a great 3 course meal, I am now ensconced in my cabin ready for a good nights sleep. #Spain here I come.

Blackberry Part 2
Well the Blackberry didn't come.
After ordering it online via my service provider, waiting in all morning for next day 'before 1pm' delivery and nothing turning up, I rang them to find out that it was infact 'out of stock', something that they neglected to put online when I ordered it OR send me some sort of notification to that effect!
Having cancelled the order, carried on with the Pre3 with its niggles; sometimes cuts me off when in a call, sometimes poor reception through speaker, screen being unresponsive at times, phone locking up for several minutes, I have taken the plunge but this time bought an unlocked Blackberry Bold 9900. I figured that a contract would cost me over £800 over 2 years, whilst the phone will cost me a lot less bought outright.
Why the Blackberry? Well as i'm getting older I find that the need for lots of apps and games on the phone has dwindled, I just need to talk, text and socialise. Plus with my eyes as they are, a physical keyboard is so much nicer.
So at the moment i'm awaiting for it to arrive Friday - here's hoping that this time the plan comes together!
Blackberry 9900
New phone on way let's hope it's better than the HP Pre3!
Been a while..
It's been a while since I've been here, so here goes a few updates. On the bike front, had a few rides of late, met the group I went away with for lunch at the Trout Inn near Oxford, great location, good company, shame the food spent the rest of the evening forcing it's way out of me! Going to a IAM meet on Thursday so hoping to get some qualifications (so to speak) behind me. On the running front, ran 15.88 miles on Monday, killed me. Don't think I'm ready for my marathon in 4 weeks but have a game plan in place, here's hoping all will be ok!
A tortoise not a hare!
Well I have finally made the running discovery that I need to be a tortoise! Having spent ages going off too fast, seeing someone and thinking 'I can catch them' I now know that slow and steady wins the day. Lets be honest at 6'6" and 16 stone I'm not built for running, but I love doing it and it keeps me fit and I've lost nearly 5 stone doing it. So a lesson learnt and one I will try in my half marathon race next month. other news: I'm posting this from my new HP Pre3 phone which arrived today. It uses webOS which I'm liking very much at the moment. Bye bye iPhone!
