Alas, Pretty Boy passed away. I missed him so much so I got another betta.

This is Crazy Colonel cause he's super active and just a general bastard of a fish. Since getting him, all of my colorful shrimp mysteriously disappeared. He doesn't seem to have an issue with the black, blue, or brown shrimp but I swear he murdered the reds, oranges, and yellows.

Haven't caught him in the act but I'm putting my money on it. Still, he's beautiful and very fun to watch.

Yes, when the original post is deleted from the server (not just the blog, but the Tumblr servers), there is no root post for notes to be added onto, and also no root post for time to be counted from, so it starts from zero. Most computer operating systems use Unix, which was launched in 1971 with t.he epoch date of midnight on January 1, 1970 as 1. Therefore zero is one second behind that date: December 31, 1969. My two 10 gallons. First one has cull/mixed neocaridina shrimp and Pretty Boy (koi betta). Second is my blue dream neocaridina shrimp and white cloud minnow tank.

Miiiiight be time to trim the rotala (red plants). I personally like when it turns into a jungle, the stuff never stops growing. But fish need room to swim.

1 week later, the rotala is so dense now. If you struggle to grow aquatic plants, consider trying rotala rotundifolia. Pretty red plant that is easily propogated.
