I been watching how engineers and machinists created devices some 70 to 100 years in the past and I’m awed.
They never built anything with obsolescence in mind. Some of their best products continue to function as intended to this very day. It flies in the face of fat pocket greedy capitalists who wanted to create products with shorter lifespans for a steady revenue.
That phone in your hand is a prime example.
Here we are in 2023 and for those of us who never dreamed of this future in our youth, it’s a horror.
This generation will know nothing about life before climate change. It will be a normal for you. You will look at the past as a puzzlement.
The elite justify their own lives at everyone else’s expense. It matters not that the planet resources are diminishing. They have an exit strategy in place. It will not include you or your children. That’s is what we enable them to do with unchecked accumulated wealth.
The future generations won’t know about engineering that created products that lasted, limiting the drain of the planet resources. You will know nothing about when whole cities did not flood over. You will know nothing about how a movement of humanity fought for social justice and failed.
You will learn about limited resources, the justification and rationale to deny them to others. It will be ordinary to you because ‘it’s always been that way.’
Strange, because the planet’s demise is being stream to you in real time including humanity’s inhumanity to one another.
What is the price we are paying for this planet that is clearly displaying resource exhaustion?
I hate being a parent leaving this atrocity as a legacy for my family.
