i know some people like to come up w reasons why shinichi might need glasses after his little jaunt into childhood 2.0, but what if he just needs them after he gets older ykwim. coming full circle? glasses in 'youth' and glasses in middle age... bad eyes are genetic and his dad wears em, soooo.
speaking of his pops i didn't have to make shinichi this old tbh bad eyes can get u at any age but i really just like painting wrinkles LOL but they all got hidden by his hair and glasses and this stupid ass pose i picked 💔 he is not presentable without his hair but the glasses are optional, so enjoy a 100% shot of the crows feet i guess.

i also think that him not wanting to wear glasses bc it reminds him of being conan even thirty, forty years down the line could be fun. smile.
...normally im not that interested in long term post-canon musings, but i think there's something about this guy being stuck in time (ic conanification, ooc his series will not see a speedy conclusion) that is strangely appealing to me. maybe why i also like timeskip kaishin so much--it feels especially luxurious to explore future possibilities for protags who feel unlikely to get their own ending ? something like that

hard agree on the muddying of waters between shinichi & conan--i think that in some ways all those years could make it worse, tbh. like 10 years difference between 6 and 16 is a lot when you're 16. that's more than half your life, and life is a lot different when you're one age vs the other. distinct divide.
but once he's like, 50, the 10 years difference between 50 and 40 is less distinct--he's a different person at 50 than he was at 40 for sure, but probably not by all that much. it's probably easier to forget he did get back to his original age, and maybe when he has his nightmares it's harder to remember that he did make it back.
then again, maybe it does help? because again, 40 vs 50 is less distinct than 6 and 16. maybe he did make it back, maybe he didn't, but he's still gotten a large chunk of his adult years between him and conan, so does it matter so much now...?
interesting to think about, and as always with the more hypothetical aspects of this series, i think it could work both ways and depends on what kind of story you want to tell...?

VIZ Media has just announced they will re-publish the Detective Conan manga under its real title and with the original names!! The revamped volumes will be published as 3-in-1 editions, starting Spring 2027!!
Apparently, the reason why VIZ Media can finally re-publish Detective Conan under its real title is because the Robert E. Howard estate is falling into public domain in 2027, and therefore Conan the Barbarian doesn't hold copyright anymore.
While it seems completely absurd to copyright an actual surname, there is credence to that interpretation, as even Conan O'Brien had to pay the Robert E. Howard estate to keep the title of his show.
This goes to show copyright laws are often utter nonsense.
A friend pitched this fun art idea in response to the (very cool!) news that Case Closed will be getting 3-in-1 reprints under the original Detective Conan title next year! :D Adding it here to this post which provides some good context. (Thank you, OP!)

I feel like the reveal is going to happen during the final climax of the story, so I asked myself in what circumstances he would tell her his real identity.
Here Conan's plan to take down the BO mostly worked, so even if Ran discovers the truth, she'd be out of danger now, but he got badly injured during the last confrontation. Ran followed him, because she had been having suspicions for a long time, and found him in this state. At this point Conan doesn't feel the need to keep it a secret from her anymore and not being sure he's gonna survive his injuries, he decides to tell her to give her closure at least. Of course Ran won't let him die! No matter who he is, he's important to her.
