Hello, Tumblr.

If you joined us before November 2022 and predominantly post on web, you will be familiar with the two post editors—the legacy editor and the “new” web editor (formerly known as the “Beta editor”).

Beginning May 15, we’ll gradually be working to remove the legacy editor as an option for creating new posts. New posts created on web will be created in the new web editor. We hope to complete this change by July 15.

This change only affects accounts created before November 2022. Newer accounts already default to the new web editor.

This will not affect posting on the apps because we switched to this new editor on the apps about four years ago. If you use the apps, you’ve been using the new editor all this time!

This will not affect what you can include in a post, only how you get there: You can still include all the different types of media in a post, only now, you’ll do that via the new web editor’s content blocks instead of selecting a post type from the post type bar at the top of your dash. So, if you’re halfway through a text post, and you decide that what this post really needs is your pet reptile, then click on the little red image icon in the post editor, select an image, and voilà. Lizard boy steals our hearts.

If you still prefer to post on web using the legacy editor, please keep reading because the rest of this post is for you.

I called the cops on a cop last night?

There was a police car sitting at a stop sign on a narrow road I take.

I turned down the road and kept approaching because "ok they're stopping at a stop sign"

Get down the road. Cop doesn't move. I sit there for 2 minutes not knowing what to do. I flash my brights cause it's 11:30PM, then lay on my horn. Nothing.

Tried backing up, bad, scary idea. Cars are lined one side of the street, imbankment walls leaning into the road on the other.

Its been like 7 minutes so I called 911 not knowing what else to do.

Apologize immediately, explain everything to the operator, can't back down the street, don't know what to do about the cop car blocking the road, can't fit around him.

The operator is cracking up. I hear someone else on the line laughing. The operator explains what the officer is doing vaguely and tells me they'll have him move the car, still cracking up.

Minute later the cop comes out and moves his car in the way of the intersecting street. Didn't bat an eye at my car, didn't look my way, didn't wave, nothing.

I then realized I called the cops on a cop. I laughed my whole rest of the way home about it then smoked weed and laughed more.

#i havent paid any parking tickets to them either #its a small town and theyre assholes over places im allowed to park long story short #theyll also swing their cop car doors open wide thinking it grants them immediate access across the street when im 20ft away at 25 mph #they get mad when it doesnt but dont wanna yell at me for it when i pull over for them #but yeah i called the cops on them LOL

love & isolation are so strange because in solitude, u create all these perfect scenarios for your imaginary darling—you would cut them fruit & dance in the kitchen & always kiss them twice in case the first one doesn't take properly—but as soon as you're given the chance, you fumble. it's so mortifying, having not practiced but taken so much time to plan it out, & you finally get your shot & you can hardly hold their hand or meet their eyes. you want love so badly & you've been deprived of others for so long, your actual capability is distorted. you wince at their touch or can only leave them small gifts when you're out of the room. the intensity increases, the thought that you don't deserve softness heightens. it's a terrible cycle: wanting & wanting & letting that want turn to a festering that ruins it before you can reel yourself back

Genuinely, I like dead Tumblr more now. 👍
