So excited to hear some new music from Metric! Super danceable.
With members of Underoath, Say Anything and Anberlin this super band is something completely different than that of the members main projects.
These guys are back and just as big as before! Super pumped to hear them kicking out tunes again. Saw them both weekends at Coachella and really enjoyed them.
Super excited to hear this song from my friends in Icelandia.

For whatever reason I can’t get enough of Alesso and his new track “If It Wasn’t For You” is extra tasty. I thought big room house was on it’s way out but this swede is picking up the slack.
Standing in the Presence of Greatness
This year I had the pleasure of not only going to Coachella but going for both weekends. The lineup wasn’t the strongest it had been in years past but so my favorites were playing and I’d never been before, so I figured what do I have to lose.
For me there were only a handful of bands I couldn’t miss, but there was one that was a non negotiable. One that I’d leave my friends where ever they might be, and enjoy it with or without them. Jack White was must for me this year and he was headlining Saturday Night.
I’d somehow made my way down quiet close, by Coachella standards, with an Australian man named Sean. We were talking, and then the stage went dark. Out walks a very simple band. No extras - Bass, Drums, Lap Steel, Piano/Keys, and a Backup vocalist who also played the fiddle. They start a jam and out walks Mr. White himself.
The next two hours seemed to be the best two hours of my life. To finally seeing an electric version of Hotel Yorba, that I’ve wanted to see ever since I saw this video as a kid.
He played everything from early white stripes, to Dead Weather songs, to The Raconteurs, to his solo stuff. He covered it all. It also seemed like they were making a lot of it up on the fly.
He’d walk over to drummer, give him a look, and then run over to piano player and next thing you know they are playing some song in some weird key. These musicians had to be some of the best I’d ever seen in my life.
Towards the end Jack White spoke about music was scarred and forever one. When I saw him the following week again he spoke more about how to treat musicians. Jack White is truly on of the greats and I’m glad to have gotten to see him before his hiatus. I hope to see him once more while he and I are both on the same earth. Thanks Jack for all you’ve done.
My friend Tobias Van Schneider does these amazing mix tapes and this month is a redux of his Nighttime work playlist. This goes on when I get home and generally stays on till I pass out. Checkout his other mix tapes over at his site

Summer is coming so I put together a playlist of some of my favorite songs for the summer. Both new and fresh tracks to some older stuff this will make any sunny day by the pool perfect.
The new Album from The Maine is pure brilliance. I’ve followed them since high school and it’s great to see how much their music has matured.
I don’t pay much attention to Facebook Ad’s but this bands caught my eye and man am I glad it did. Perfect for a Sunday morning.
