Queer for the Holidays
Being home can be hard, even with the most supportive families, there tends to be a cultural divide between what’s typically discussed and valued within queer spaces vs the expectations and the norms of heteronormativity. Some of you are facing abusive families or families who’s political stances actively work against your rights. Some of you may not even have families to go home because either they or you have severed those ties. Please work extra hard on survival and give yourselves all the self care, patience, and love you can. You are loved, you are cherished, and your worth isn’t tied to your family. Sending all my love, - C.
I'm sad to save this each year, sad that our safety is so rare and something we can't take for granted. Stay strong you vibrant people. You have so so much to be proud of.
