Today is the full moon of Saga Dawa, the holiest day in the holiest month of the year according to Buddhist Tradition. This day commemorates the day of the Buddha’s enlightenment. He sat in silence, under a tree (bodhi), for 49 days, and forever changed the world. We are all the same. We are all inseperable. “Until all beings are free of suffering, then no one is truly free. Until then may I abide to relieve the suffering for all.” So we pray, meditate, generate positive thoughts with the vast, infinite power of our mind. Wishing for all beings to be free of suffering, and to realize their true awakened nature, inseparable from all. We use our voice, our speech, this rare and precious gift we have of speech, to be positive to create benefit for all beings. We use our body, our actions, to create positive energy with the power of our body, to serve others. Using all three doorways of being: Body= Actions, Speech=Words and Mind=Thoughts. Part of Buddhist practice is the “accumulation of merit”, which is intentionally gathering vast amounts of positive actions, speech, and thoughts. Creating, generating positive energy over and over again, dedicating this power this energy, for the benefit the ultimate awakening of all beings without exception. Heart to heart, mind to mind, with the wish to relieve the suffering of all, establishing them in ultimate peace, bliss, happiness, all positive qualities, which is the birthright of all. This foundation, the gathering of merit, is the support that allows wisdom, realization, our true nature awakened mind, enlightenment to be revealed. Today, (and everyday) is a good day for practice, with loving actions of deeds, words and thoughts, dedicated for the awakening of all. Photo: every year on this day the prayer flags at Mt. Kalish are renewed. https://www.instagram.com/p/CBEuXxrhJZc/?igshid=5mzkdsjoo4dx
