just let me use your website you insufferable rat
hey quick PSA but “reading before bed to wind down” only works if you’re normal about books btw. if you aren’t you are going to end up awake at 2:52am after finishing the whole book just trust me on this one
Trying to figure out how to draw armour. These are some of my notes I uploaded on patreon. A lot more to come since I really want to figure this one out.
hey im a big fan of your work !! ive very recently read almost all of your novellas and short stories <3 they’re very gripping !!
ive been DESPERATELY hunting down authors with similar tone or vibe ! but have unfortunately not found anything. i would love to support other indie authors ! do you have any recs ?? tysm !! <3
Hello!! Thank you so much for your support and your kind words! And I apologize for how long it took me to reply, I was Thinking about my answer 😂
If you're looking for more religious horror, I'd recommend @kyleskeleton and @ghostpoetics. Kyle's book The Church of the Mountain of Flesh was life changing for me, and Morgan Dante has several really wonderful books with religious themes and romance. (Also if you like vampires they have lots of vampires.) Arden Powell's The Bayou is such an excellent book as well, and they have some books that have gender noncomforming characters as well! Claude Hamesh writes some excellent religious themed work as well, check out In The Hands of an Angry G-d. I would also recommend @nicosraf, Ezra Arndt, Tyler Battaglia, Enoli Lee, Larkin Bryne, and Lucien Burr.
For more body horror or darker horror themed stuff, I'd recommend @wolfehorror as well as Achilles King from starshinepub. Claustrophilia by Ezra Blake was a big influence for me writing Eyetooth, so if you want some heavy body horror, check that one out! Gemini Fletcher has a book that I still think about to this day, Gutted.
@thornyfilth has some really excellent horror as well as some contemporary trans fiction that I absolutely adore! If you like darker contemporary, also check out Sera Quim. I'd also recommend Rien Gray for gorgeous prose and complex fantasy worlds, as well as dark contemporary work with nonbinary and sapphic rep. @ladzwriting has some excellent world building and darker themes as well! @tdcloud is another author I'd recommend!!
Some more authors:
Felix Graves
Adik Graves
VT Hoang
Hex McKenna
Johannes T. Evans
Sancta Seraphina (has a religious novel out!)
A.A. Fairview
Georgina Kiersten
@emrynbird
@ninawolv3rina
@aidenemesser
There's probably more (there always are lol!) But this is already getting to be a super long list and hopefully will be enough to get you started!
I'm so sorry to the Bisexuals but Francesca Bridgerton is a Lesbian. So is Michaela Stirling. Compulsive Heterosexuality is a thing. Y'all watched Fran decline every suitor available until she got to the autistic one like her. There was no romantic spark when they kissed. No rush of pleasure when he touched her. He was her best friend and husband. I adore him for this fact. But she literally forgot her own name the moment she saw his LADY cousin. Like, come on now.
And Michaela literally has No Boys Allowed stamped across her forehead. They're Lesbians.
I promise you, if they gave me any inclination that they liked men then I'd support it but they're not.
This has been my Ted Talk.
Was suddenly reminded of how much I really loved the book These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever. This is a cover I made for my own homemade hardback version of the book, but I kinda don't want to show it bc its...uhhh it was my first time trying to do such a thing and it's...not the best LOL. But I'm pretty proud of it regardless.
Think about the last WLW couple that crossed your mind
Were they a healthy couple? Did they have a happy ending? Did they even happen?
This is why franchaela means so much to me.
Protect these two, Netflix. Or I will be your front door.
How important is representation in [Franchaela's] love story?
I am so freaking excited for some of the people interested in commissioning me this year, I never imagined some of them would even know who I am!! 🫣If you're a fan of queer gothic or biblical horror with dark romance vibes, prepare to be sick of meeeee!
As a side note, I hope that I can also make time to create some more fanart in my personal time and be a little more active on my Tumblr--I forget about it sometimes, tbh, but I've always loved how Tumblr is a great place for fellow book nerds and fandoms to gather!😉
So I maaaay have an exciting part to play for the box set coming out this year for Marc J. Gregson's YA series Above the Black ....👀🤫
It’s not even just that it’s sapphic and the actresses were wonderful last season. It’s that a Black woman is the leading love interest. It’s that the Bridgerton lead is an almost explicitly autistic woman. It’s that they’ve already given them some layers, so I know the writing of these characters will not be horribly shallow and rely on stereotypes. And we get to go to a Scottish castle. Wins all around.
