my name is Ringo! I'm from KC, I'm 20 years old and go by he/they. This is my review blog, where I rant about the various things I buy in my part of the capitalist cycle. My main is @ringotheman
NO AI EVER, FUCK AI. No sponsers or affilates either (I'm not big enough for that anyway)
Everything I review I will give an out of 10 rating, mostly based on vibes. I veeery seldomly go under 0 or over 10 because I feel that defeats the point of the system. Everything I say here is opinion based on my experiences, so if you disagree that's fine and expected! just dont make a stink about it /lh I'm open to requests and discussion, just drop me an ask!

Ill review just about anything, and so I have many a sorting tag (they may be barren as of now bc this blog is very new) :
#topdogs - my absolute favorites! usually things I've gotten multiple multiple times or just fell in love with.
#first impressions - fresh off experiencing something for the first time. The review likely won't encapsulate the long-term experiences and is more subject to change/updates.
#updates - reblogs of previous reviews with updates attached.
#nonreview - any post that's not actually a review.
#physical - things I physically own(ed) and take up space in my house
#digital - things I own/found on the internet/my computer.
#media - less of a traditional product and more of like...entertainment. will also be tagged #TV, #movies, #games, #books, #music / #albums, etc. as appropriate
#events - one-time occasions, like conventions or concerts
#perishable - products expected to be "used up", expire, or not intended to last forever (or at least over 3 years).
#food / #drinks - technically also part of perishables, but potentially such large categories that I've decided to separate them.
#lengthy / #brief - reviews that are substantually longer (over 1,000 words) or shorter (under 300 words)
#photos - reviews that have non-official photos (IE ones i took myself)
#bundles - reviews that encapsulate multiple products, usually sold together as some sort of set.
#subscriptions - subscription services/memberships/things I will lose access to If I dont continue to pay for them.
#free - things I didn't pay money for. (NOT affiliated, again I dont do that. more like... free games)
#local - small(er) places or brands local to the Kansas City area (or generally Kansas/Missouri)
I always tag brand names and storefronts where applicable, Ex: #Walmart, #Holo Taco, #Dutchbros, etc
I will also tag with their ratings, Ex: #1/10 through #10/10 or #scale breaking for those rare exceptions.
The Unwind has been one of my personal favorite Dutch Bro's orders for many months now- it's a "secret" flavor with caramel, macadamia nut, and dark chocolate. It's sweet but not overly so, it still has a solid, strong coffee flavor. The dark chocolate adds a good depth, the caramel adds a layer of sweetness, and the macadamia nut flavor grounds it. It's hard to find complaints, it's a little "boring?" There's nothing special or weird, but that's not a bad thing: It's just a well balanced latte that's become my go-to.
OG dropped their "weird scent" slime collection a few weeks ago, and I ordered the petrichor slime right as it dropped. I knew it would probably sell out quick, and it had a lot of the things I was looking for: a promising scent, silica/lavarock or something similarly crunchy, cute theme, and doesn't lose aesthetics actually playing with it. I'm happy to say this hit all those marks!
Admittedly, I'm already a little biased because 1. the colors immediately reminded me of my fursona, Gibs, and 2. I loooove the rain and smell of petrichor. I'm constantly on the lookout for scents trying to recreate it. For the unfamiliar, petrichor is the smell of rain on dry rock. usually the smell you get from a storm blowing in, fresh rain, or watering the lawn. I'll say the smell isn't spot on, as is my experience for most scents from OG - "they tried really hard". I'd describe it as an earthy pine. vaguely cashmere, vaguely patchouli. It's still great! At the very least no trace of glue smell. Petrichor is a notoriously difficult scent to replicate, so the fact they got as close as they did is impressive. I kinda wish I had it as a candle.
As for the texture, it's a clear slime base, so it's on the tackier side. It has lava rock and crushed silica, so it's very crunchy and pokey. Definitely wouldn't recommend this slime for sensitive hands. Personally, I like to pain stim, so it was lovely for me and a good change of pace from the smoother slime I got last month. I was worried about the moss topper changing the texture bizzarely, but it's as unnoticable as the glitters are once mixed. It has a very nice grinding sound that scratches my brain. The ASMR sounds a lil like rain pitter-pattering if you close your eyes. That being said, its loud, so if you were hoping to bring it to class/work, it might not be for you. I'm happy to report there's zero fallout, so no rocks everywhere. It's always a good sign when I find myself picking it up and poking at it in between tasks.
It's very pretty, the silica almost looks like sea glass, and there's adorable star/umbrella-shaped glitters (that I'm not worried about getting everywhere), and the mossy green clear base gives it murky river vibes. It doesn't lose its aesthetic quality as you play with it, unlike say, a slime with a shaped clay topper or different swirled colors that congeal into the lesser sum of its parts. do suspect that as the lavarock grinds down on itself, it will turn the base darker, but like...oh no, my murky green is even murkier, whatever will I do? /s If there are significant changes, I'll update my review as the slime starts to dry out.
On price: it was listed at 18$, I paid 23$ including package protection and shipping. its expected for slimes to dry out in 15 to 30 days. My other OG slimes lasted about a month, but mix-ins can affect that number, so we'll see. OG is a trendy and relatively expensive slime company, and this one was on the higher end of their spectrum. I prefer this brand because I'm not great at making slime, and otherwise it's hard to find slimes that aren't "cupcake unicorn fart!!" and smell like plastic. for something that you can make yourself or get cheaper from smaller companies, you're paying for name, style, and quality assurance. I'm plenty happy with my purchase at this price, but I'll fully acknowledge that it is costly and nonessential.
Overall, no major complaints! Smells good (even if not fully accurate), feels good, looks good. My hands-down favorite of the OG slimes I've tried so far. Worth it if this is something you're into.
