Fakeathon Day 24 - Peryton

Phawn, Acidoe and Toxstag!

Despite their innocent facade, Phawn (pH + fawn) have very potent venom. Due to their short fangs however, they have no way of utilising it.

Due to the small size of their wings, Acidoe (acid + kiddo + doe) are unable to truly fly, but can be found leaping off tall rocks in an attempt to flutter to the ground. Hostile in nature, they are liable to attack passing trainers.

Only a few Acidoe ever manage to evolve into Toxstag (toxic + stag). Capable of full flight, they secrete a toxin that renders even their feathers lethal.

Fakeathon Day 22 - Bigfoot

Bubbit and Ghwamp!

Bubbit (big + muppet/moppet) spend most of their lives scavenging for more leaves to add to their hoards. If surprised, they will ‘play dead’ in hopes of being mistaken for piles of leaf litter.

There are almost no confirmed sightings of wild Ghwamp (ghillie + swamp). Reported sightings say they move near-silently, leaving only their large footprints as any evidence of their passing.

Fakeathon day 17 - Phoenix

Hidenpeep and Phreenix!

Hidenpeep (hide-and-seek + peep) is extremely shy, and nobody has ever seen their face. Using their feet to keep their shell clamped closed, they walk on their wings. It can only evolve once its formed a lifelong friendship with their trainer (maxed friendship + affection).

Phreenix (free + phoenix) are far more confident than Hidenpeep, but still have some self-doubt. Trying their best to please their trainer, if they faint in battle they ‘devolve’ back into Hidenpeep. You have to say hi in amie/refresh/camping for them to regain their confidence and ‘evolve’ again

Bunby and Tuskip!

Obtained via the Tusk Fossil, Bunby (bunyip + baby) and Tuskip (tusk + bunyip)

Fakeathon Day 11 - Kamaitachi

Weavile! Seeing as there is already a kamaitachi pokemon I figured doing a regional variant would be fun, so here’s a Team Yell themed Weavile.

Day 13 of Fakeathon - Minotaur

Boxen and Aurox

Boxen (box + oxen) can only be found in areas where it snows heavily and struggle with warm temperatures. They spend most of their time sparring with other Boxen, developing their skills.

at level 30 they evolve into Aurox (auroch + box + ox). Self assured in their abilities, they are generally laid back. They are extremely prideful of their horns however, and if they shatter or melt Aurox will turn enraged.

Fakeathon Day 9 - Cyclops

Deinky and Dinazar

Deinky (donkey + ein + dinky) is incredibly playful, and can be seen frolicking around moon-lit fields. Thought to provide protection to their trainers, they are sometimes given as gifts to those starting out on their journey.

Dinazar (donkey + piñata + nazar) is Deinky, but bigger lol

based on donkeys, piñatas and nazars, and the phrase ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’. I wanted to go for a pretty untraditional ‘cyclops’!

Fakeathon day 8 - Quetzalcoatl

Dunsoar (dunce + soar) evolves from Dunsparce under unknown and mysterious circumstances. It flies to the top of caves and drills into the ceiling, hanging out of the way of danger.

Day 7 of Fakeathon - Tanuki

Tanushki (tanuki + babushka) spend their days searching for perfectly square rocks to use in their mischief. Disguised as an old lady, they will offer the ‘treat’ to passing trainers which, if taken, will cause Tanushki to run off laughing. 

based off of the bake-danuki Jūbakobaba,  tanuki who disguise themselves as old ladies and try to trick people with jubako, wooden gift boxes.

Fakeathon Day 6 - Mothman

Maedarva, Shikokoon and Mothamune!

Maedarva (maedae + larva) due to their dark colouration, are only seen at night. They feast on leaves in the upper branches of trees, and the glow of their antennae can be seen for miles. 

Shikokoon (shikoro + cocoon) encapsulate themselves in a layer of super-tough metal as they pupate on the forest floor, in order to protect themselves from being trampled.

Mothamune (moth + Masamune) and uses the strips of leftover cocoon to create a cloak of razor sharp metal. Though sharp is it relatively brittle, and broken pieces can be used to make legendarily sharp blades.

Cytomera (cytokinesis + chimera) 

I have no justification for this, I just thought it’d be neat

Fakeathon Day 4 - Harpy

Cawrpy and Zephaello!

A more quick-fire idea to try and catch up, both pure flying!

Cawrpy (macaw + harpy) floats around without much control over where they go, while Zaphaello (zephyr + Aello) is very rarely seen, but its appears is considered a harbinger of sever thunderstorms.

Fakeathon Day 3, Selkie

Cozeal and Skulkie!

Cozeal (cozy+seal+zeal) is a form changing water/fairy type.  PJ form has the ability Shed Skin, and has higher base HP. Seal Coat, the held item, boosts the power of water moves.

Taking away the Seal Coat makes Cozeal become Blubber Form, which has the ability Thick Fat, and has much better stats overall, and becomes very active and hostile, even towards its trainer. 

After being KO’d 20 times in battle, a Cozeal in Blubber form will evolve into Skulkie (skull+sulk+selkie), a ghost/fairy type. Due to the trauma of having its coat stolen it’s very morose, and it’s signature move is Perish Song.

Fakeathon: Day 1 - Dragon

Pestigeist! An ancient statue of a Dragonite that’s been possessed by a colony of tiny ghosts. 

I wanted the statue to not be a direct replica of Dragonite, seeing as how it’s meant to be ‘rarely seen’, more of sculpture by someone who had never seen one themselves, like an mediaeval bestiary
