How to Make A DIY Pallet Feature Wall: Instructions Included
Pallet walls have been gaining popularity in recent years, and for a good reason. They are a simple way to add character to any space while adding major style points. In this blog post, we will show you How to Make A DIY Pallet Feature Wall that is fairly easy and inexpensive to make! Follow these instructions below for an easy DIY pallet wall.
Getting Started
To begin, you will need to start by cleaning the pallets well. The cleaner your pallets are when you start this project, the better it is going to look in the end.
Next, decide how tall a wall you want and cut all of your boards down to that height. You can do any design or pattern with these cuts as far as how they go on top of each other; however, we recommend doing them randomly because it looks best!
You will need to lay the first row of pallets. Using a nail gun or hammer and nails, secure all of your boards together tightly. If using screws, be sure not to use too long or they could go through on the other side! You can then place them wherever is most convenient for you in your space as far as how it looks best regarding height.
However, keep in mind where outlets are so that you don’t have any issues later down the road if there are no power points available near where you would like to hang things from this DIY feature wall decorating project! After adding these pieces upfront, move onto adding more rows until complete (with each piece being staggered).
You can then start to add in your DIY wall decor, such as pictures or paintings. This project is a great way to incorporate your own personal style and sense of design while getting creative simultaneously!
It's an easy idea that anyone can do with only basic DIY skills being necessary. You will be surprised how much it transforms any room! If you are looking for more inspiration on this feature wall project, there are many different ways you could go about building it out.
The possibilities really are endless when thinking about what kind of pallet board features would look best in your space; however, if you want some ideas here are two very popular designs:
Make a DIY pallet feature wall using a miter saw:
If you have a miter saw, it is going to make this project much easier. If not, there are many different ways that you could go about cutting these boards down into the correct size and shape for your space!
When using a miter saw, the first thing that we recommend is securing all of your pallets together tightly before making any cuts on them with the power tool.
This will help ensure they stay in place while being cut so that none fall apart or get moved around once complete until everything has been cut through successfully. Next, start off by marking where each board should be placed vertically so that it looks best based upon how tall you would like the final result to come out looking aesthetically pleasing.
After you have decided this, start to cut your DIY pallet boards one by one so that they are all even heights. You can then take them off of the baseboard and place them in front of it on top of each other still staggered with the first row being placed at a different angle than the second, third, etc.
Once complete, you will be able to nail these DIY feature wall decor pieces together again tightly using either nails or screws depending on what type of material was used to build out your DIY project!
