GIF Making Tutorial

I literally haven't gotten any asks about this I think but who cares I wanna make a tutorial, so a slightly comprehensive tutorial under the cut!

Tools needed:

Rain World installed (duh) ScreenToGif These mods

Mod settings:

Afaik, thats all the mod settings I changed - eyebrow raise is for the high quality gifs. Make sure to familiarize yourself with all the mods, making sure you know the hotkeys and such.

Getting Started

After you open Rain World, make sure your game is set to windowed instead of fullscreen and open the arena menu to sandbox. Click the arena you want to use for your gif and open it. For now I'm just going to spawn one scavenger. Load the arena.

Once you have your scav, its time to open screentogif! Click the recording icon, adjust the window, and place the window over your scav. If you want a transparent gif, hit the hotkey to enable greyscreen. When you are ready to make your GIF, click the red record button in the bottom right corner.

When you are satisfied with your gif, click the blue square on the bottom right to stop the gif. The screentogif editor will open. Here you can trim or edit your gif as you want, although I usually leave it how it is and open the file button. Make sure the encoder slider is slid all the way to the left, at 1/best. If you want a transparent gif, click enable transparency, click the color, and drag the color selector to your background color.

Now it's time to save your gif - pick the file folder you want it to be in, and name it. I usually name the file the scavengers ID. After you save, it will also be copied to your clipboard. Paste your little guy wherever you want, and enjoy!

Large GIFs

I did make another post on this, but I will do more here! You start basically the same as the other gif style, but make sure you have the parasite chosen as your slugcat and eyebrow raise mod enabled. Open your arena, find the slugcat (I use the V hotkey in devtools to teleport myself.) Next, take a deep breath in, beg for forgiveness, and then kill the scav you want to make the gif of. Grab the scav, and activate the eyebrow raise.

While you are doing the eyebrow raise and it is zoomed in, eat the scavenger. You have now become the scav! Toggle greyscreen for a transparent gif, and then record! Make sure to harness your inner scavenger to make it look convincing (no one needs to know you are a slugcat in a scav body!) When you are done recording, save the gif as you did the other one, and voila! You now have your scavenger gifs! In game you will be stuck zoomed in, exit and restart to get out of the zoomed in setting :)
