So.... Imagine if Andrew became conscious right about when Assimilation was about to get shot? He'd jump in and save them, promising that they'll get elitras another time.

And they wait. The wait patiently. Looking at every single new copy of Andrew, trying to find at least something in his eyes, something that can make them believe that it was THEIR Andre they're looking at. But that time never comes.
