it's always been interesting to me that project zomboid's goal of having a fully crafting based progression option was consistently bottlenecking at the production of nails, which it's taking for granted as being used historically to the same degree they are today, so it can't really navigate the problem of "on which scale of manufacturing does the mass production of nails make sense" believably
