DMC 4 MODERN HUMAN AU //

The Sparda family is an elite and successful lineage due to their presence in weaponry creation dating back centuries. Two swords, Rebellion and Yamato are family heirlooms passed down to the precious twins, Dante and Vergil. Like any other dangerous business, the family suffers greatly from their involvement in this field. The father Sparda goes missing, and the mother Eva dies in a mysterious “fire.” When Vergil turns 18, he abandons his past and pursues a brighter future of his own success rather than his father’s. Dante is left to handle the family business alone all until he discovers an Ebay listing for the one and only Yamato—Vergil’s sword. Could this be? Has his brother returned??

(It’s actually fuckass Nero Sparda trying to make some money off of some tacky sword that his mother left behind.)

Dante uses his resources to track down the user, discovering it’s none other than Nero—a strikingly familiar child with a love for getting into trouble. Dante takes it upon himself to bail the kid out for his recent “attempted assault” charges. Chaos ensues.

does anyone else despise the term "queer platonic relationship"? i'm all for platonic relationships being important and relevant in our lives, but the general consensus of a qpr is that its a secret-third-thing style partnership involving two people pursuing one another out of endearment with no chains of lust nor romance..and thats something that just does not scream "platonic" nor "romantic" to me. i can't help but wonder why we don't call it a queer ALTEROUS relationship? qar? i feel its this style of love that is most accurate to what it is to be non-romantically infatuated with your other half. i mean i think its less like "we're best friends who are together forever!" and more "we are those two queer-coded characters who have this unexplainable tension between them that the directors confirmed to be more than friends but not quite lovers we are confusing and intertwined but not in THAT way" yknow??? or am i aromanticing to hard

OK I swear I already went on one rant about the misuse of the term

"Lavender marriage"

But I can't find it to add to so separate post IG.

You do not WANT a lavender marriage.

Lavender marriages are for safety in a homophobic society you do not want to be hiding who you are attracted to.

What you want is a platonic or queerplatonic marriage.

And at this point I'm like 90% the reason people are misusing the terms is aphobia.

Cause what other reason would there be to ignore the important history of lavender marriages, to change their meaning to something that already has a word.

Other than because it's largely aspec people who use that word.

"That's a reach" Mate they still don't like to acknowledge the split attraction model and there's no explanation for that other than the sane thing.

Fandom: Oh, he's gay.

Female character: I'm not attracted to men.

Fandom: Oh, she's a lesbian.

Any character: I'm not attracted to anybody.

Fandom: Well, we don't know that they're ace/aro/aroace. It's open for interpretation. They're not canonically ace/aro/aroace unless they specifically say they are.

Hmmmm. I wonder why we're so frustrated in fandom spaces. I wonder if there's a reason.
