It’s OK to rest
So I posted here that I felt dejected a day before for my comprehensive exams. But the good news is, I passed! Now that it’s over and I passed with flying colors, it’s time to get moving to the next adventure ahead of me. What fun.
Although, before I do that, I’d like to take a quick retrospective of the past. I find it super ironic that I would feel dejection when I was able to do quite well. And I was having a few sad days before that to boot. It was quite an emotional roller coaster ride. And yet the outcome was that there was nothing to worry about. I wonder if there’s anyone who feels 100% confident of their future. I suppose I was able to go through it pretty well, though. It’s okay to have sad days. I think I could have examined what was going through my head that made my feelings confused, but that’s an exercise for the future.
Now, though, I’m on to my next challenge. The prospect of graduation is less than a year away, and I only have practicum and my final culminating project to overcome. Then I’d be done and I can call myself a Master of Psychology. Can you imagine? Time flies by so fast.
Today I just stayed at home. It was a rest day. I realized that I’ve been spending my time outside of the house doing so many things for so many other people that I had no time to rest and recharge and be by myself. I forgot that times like that are so important for my energy. I need to take energy in again and recharge my life battery. While I think I’m an extrovert, today made me realize that I really haven’t had time like this for a while. And I appreciate it. I appreciate being in my room and just taking the moment to re-center myself and re-organize. Perhaps I need more days like these in order to do more in the future.Â
Anyway, I’m rambling. But it’s okay. I feel good. My body is well-rested. And I just wanted to play. Despite this laid back day, I was also able to finish some chores I set for myself. So there is some productivity going on. That makes me grateful.
To more blessings in the future!
Just keep moving.
Leo
