Diego scratched at the back of his neck, a half bashful smile on his face. He could stand in meeting rooms and present pitches to investors ad nauseam but there was something about being in Lindy’s presence that turned him into a blubbering fool. She was ethereal, his wife. She’d drawn his attention from the moment he’d laid eyes on her and now, a few years later, Diego found that he still couldn’t look away.
“I didn’t expect it to be so difficult to find a babysitter,” he admitted. He’d thought about using one of those websites, but the idea of leaving his son with a complete stranger left a nauseated feeling in the pit of his stomach. “I texted a few of our friends. I’m waiting for a reply.” He slipped his phone from his pocket, glancing at the lit screen before sliding it back into his pocket. “Oliver will babysit which solves one problem. As for the other, I was thinking a drive in movie. I hear they’re showing Casablanca.”
Lindy pursed her lips at the mention of Casablanca. She knew her husband was romantic, but sometimes she still found herself pleasantly floored at just how romantic he could be. Lindy could never get tired of it, either. “Well, you know I could never turn down a drive in,” she mused. “Any requests?” She asked, fleetingly as she stepped back into the dim hallway, tiptoeing towards their bedroom. Drive-ins were nice cause it could be romantic, but casual. So the outfits…well, she’d gone in jeans ( comfort ), skirts ( sometimes with devious intentions ), hell even sweats. Considering this was last-minute, she couldn’t decide as she flipped through her closet, so she threw various articles of clothing on their bed. “Help me,” she pouted.
