The Baby Subplot: Its Unresolved Elements- The Series Introduction
I have decided to take it to tumblr to create a series of posts regarding Historia’s pregnancy and its unresolved elements- and how it ties to a theory about how the child was supposed to be of royal and Ackerman bloodlines. Yes, I am completely serious.
I understand that we on the Levi baby daddy theorist side of the fandom are constantly mocked and considered creepy monsters and delirious- as small as a group we are- and how we cannot just accept that the farmer was the father all along and how stupid we are to read a ship into the manga.
“The last chapter showed the farmer at the child’s birthday!”
“But the farmer was at her birth!”
“But Historia is said to be married at the end of the manga!”
“If it was so important, why wasn’t there more focus on her pregnancy?”
Of course, it doesn’t help too that we never got to get any of the conversation she had with Eren clarified or any actual dialogue from Historia after Chapter 130. So, something happened, but we don’t know what. Did the author decide to change the plotline or sideline it because he decided not to use it after all? Was it to leave to the readers for open interpretation? I don’t know. It never came to even have any type of symbolic meaning explicitly shown.
There is a lot to breakdown here in depth. Even if I am completely wrong at the end of the day, I just want to help others understand the thought process myself and others who created this theory went through to get where we were.
And to understand how we came to our conclusions and formulated our argument points, I would first recommend seeing this very old post where somebody on a forum was able to theorize and correctly predict that Reiner and Bertholdt were Titan Shifters. See how this user pieced together information from dialogue, positioning of certain characters in certain scenes, and physical resemblance.
And one more note. The general theory we have sets this pregnancy as an accidental pregnancy, not part of any plan. That sounds absolutely crazy, right? How could we think of something even more bizarre like that? Well, if you are brave enough to stick around, dear reader, I can explain in six chapters.
P.S. I was never into any type of shipping before in this series, and I was never on Team Eren Baby Daddy. But at the same time, I also agreed about the discrepancies about the timing of it all, the odd dialogue, and the off behaviors of certain characters. Just to let you know about myself.
EDIT: And I thought I should clarify something. I am not going to accuse the editor of forcing Isayama to do anything or change his plot. I am operating under the assumption that the author himself wanted to do the story the way he wanted and decided to change up plot elements because it is his story. Why? I have no idea, but I am not going to delve into any deeper conspiracies until we actually hear from the author himself.
