Hello, it's been a while since I've been active here!
To be honest, a lot of it is simply headcanons, but the most logical choice seems to be working together at the orphanage after Return to Shiganshina's conclusion.
Think about it. Both of their counterparts/lovers confirmed to be deceased, one losing a sun (Erwin) and one losing a moon (Ymir). One cannot exist without the other. But this little project they both worked on gives them something to keep their minds off of their grief as the world around them closes in on the island.
I do wish we had more short stories with them published from between the time skips.
