Hey I was gonna save info dumping for a master post but here’s some tidbits and drawings I made!

So Jax here is the one Pomni found at the lamppost. Tired, depressed - been stuck in their mind, abstracted. Tired of being sad and alone, Jax goes and grabs someone else who could use company - one who kept making noises from that chained door in the break room!

Lily (I call her Lil J, cause she’s a little Jax) is a representation of what’s true about Jax deep down - insecurities, vulnerabilities, (coughTRANScough) what you know from right to wrong. Jax always kept those things repressed and would deny them up until meeting her (that’s why she small bean)

After some time together they become hella sibling coded. She’s not afraid to tell Jax off for something they know is wrong (“Hey - why DO you treat Gangle that way??”) or say things that they know about Jax that they didn’t fully know themselves (“Well of course you’re jealous of Zooble!”) But like a little sibling Lily will ask questions about the circus, what the people are like. She briefly remembers Ribbit - the one who got closest to her - and she actually saw Pomni outside her door and tried calling out (when the other Jaxs yelled “SHUT UP”)

Whenever Lily addresses their problematic tendencies, Jax starts to actually reflect - subconsciously starts setting a better example for her, since… well. She’s all they’ve got left. Raising her, helping her grow, teaching her right from wrong. But even Jax is still unsure what IS right or wrong. The more they talk, she helps guide Jax towards answers that feel more right. Jax is the embodiment of “Don’t do things like I would, do better than me”

They’re learning from each other, really.

I’m wrapping up an outline for this idea and hope to have pages soon. Thanks for reading!!

This is maybe going to be a less popular opinion than the last time I said something like this but "Gangle never forgives deabstracted apologetic transitioning Jax because you don't have to forgive your abuser just because they're sorry" is another one of those ideas that's great in isolation as an Aesop style thematic moral message and as a principle irl but as soon as you apply the actual diegetic situation of the Amazing Digital Circus and its characters to it becomes absolutely fucking horrifying and nightmarish as a concept.

OK but let's be honest, in a universe where Jax/Lilly/Greznedge isn't a total piece of shit, that polycule is not stopping at funnybunnyfrogdoll.

Gangle is a 26 year old weeb who likes to draw and is canonically kinky af, my girl is gonna be in the Amazing Lesbian Circus for like an hour before her and the others decide to find out what those ribbons can do.

And Zooble will probably take a little longer to warm up to everyone, but they're an experienced queer person in a circus full of trans lesbians, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine that it won't take nearly as long as it did in canon.

(Kinger is just appreciating his gaggle of daughters of course, and who knows what Kaufmo is up to.)

I’ve already posted this to twitter and thought I’d post here aswell. I thought this would be a cute way for all of them to interact. It would make sense for them to revisit old adventure locations. In this instance the girls went out to grab a midnight snack.

(Side bar: when returning from abstraction there will be scars leftover from the mental strain of being abstracted.)

Man, I have such a long backlog of TADC fics that I've been wanting to read. But like, most of them were written before episode 9.

It actually feels really strange going and reading a story where Jax's transness isn't even a consideration, it's such a fundamental part of why she acts the way she does. Now reading stories without it feels like reading TADC with 5 of the cast and one new blorbo.

Kudos to Gooseworx for making Jax's transness such a fundamental part of her character, but man I'm going to need to sort out my reading list again.

On the flip side, it makes me unfathomably happy how many established stories and AU's *are* integrating Jax's transness, even if it's in subtle ways.

I understand that plenty of stories are already done, or featured Jax bring cis or transmasc in important ways. But seeing so many stories and AU's start to work in her gender, or just straight up having her transition, brings my little bird heart some joy.

(Plus, a story being started post-9 and still keeping Jax cis is a soviet marching band's worth of red flags that it probably isn't worth reading.)
