ic-wise, i would say that chaeyoung’s grandmother was sent to the hospital sometime during and*roma’s promotions and after a while, she had found out that her grandparents had to travel abroad to take care of her grandmother’s health. this led chaeyoung to drop out of and*roma and move to another country where she could take care of her grandparents. due to her circumstances, chances are that she probably didn’t mention it to the group why she had to leave because she lacked the courage to do so. i’d like to think that ideally, after a couple of months, she finally got a chance to go back to school and earn her degree all while slowly pursuing her dream of becoming a musical actress because it was something that she missed dearly since becoming an idol.
ooc-wise, there is a long reason behind this goodbye that i have linked over here (since i didn’t want to be reminded of the message i wrote if i ever do randomly visit this blog), but before you read, i do want to warn you that there might be some topics that are sensitive and the last thing i would want right now is to make someone feel uncomfortable. i also left it a link as a choice and if you don’t click on it, i will not be hurt at all since i wrote that to get it out of my system.

solji chuckled, glad that chaeyoung seemed as passionate about getting her blonde hair back as she was. “maybe it’ll be good for my hair to grow out its normal color again.” she always did worry if she’d end up being one of those idols who had extremely damaged hair because of all the dye jobs that they had to undergo. she didn’t want that either, so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that she wasn’t being asked to take on a unique hair color.
“true,” she nodded her head. she did wonder why they had been adamant about giving her the longer hair. after all, it wasn’t like all of the girls had long hair. “i guess they thought you look better for the song with long hair?” she shrugged her shoulders. she honestly had no good answer for the other. everything was just speculation on her part.
chaeyoung pouted over solji’s response. while she could understand the intention behind her words, chaeyoung did wished that nova allowed her to have blonde hair for their debut. but alas, all she could do was accept what nova had in store for them.
“i guess?” she tilts her head, wondering if that was really the answer to her question. “i really liked having short hair since it was easier to maintain and i felt that it would suit this rapper image the company has in mind.” contemplating over her words, chaeyoung adds as she glances to see the hairstylists still busy taking care of one of the members. “i always felt that having longer hair soften my features even more. it sort of made me look cuter? but if nova thinks that i suit long hair more for this debut…”
her voice trails off as she wonders whether to continue the rest of her sentence. in the end, she decides to do so as she finishes her statement, “i guess i’ll have to play off this duality between being a cute idol and a girl crush rapper!” she laughs in amusement before seeing one of the hairstylists slowly approaching them. chaeyoung’s voice softens as she tries to tell solji, “i think one of us is next.”
an exasperated sigh comes out of her lips as she thinks about their upcoming debut. once they were announced to be in the final lineup, chaeyoung was starting to realize that she missed even more the things that she liked when she was a private trainee.
“mhmm,” chaeyoung agrees with solji while thinking about some of the stories and articles she has heard recently about the idols. “i don’t know what brand would be interested in giving and*roma a modeling contract, but i think we all have unique images so we attract a wide audience.” with some of the idol groups, she can imagine a particular image that represents them but whenever she looks at and*roma, she can’t help but think about how versatile they are.
laughing at solji’s comment, chaeyoung admits out loud, “i don’t know how some of our sunbaes do it, to be honest. some of them have been in these practice rooms for twice as long as we do and i’m getting tired of seeing the same rooms. nova should renovate them every so often so that we don’t get tired of it.” she adds the latter as a joke, even though she is certain that nova wouldn’t do such a thing unless it was necessary. turning to see that the photographer was now looking for chaeyoung, she turns to look at solji. “i guess it’s my turn. wish me luck!”
solji thought about this point, but she didn’t really have an answer for the other. these were just things that you didn’t really know until they happened. or maybe she was simply the clueless one. “i hope that’s the case. it would be nice to be able to attract a wide audience.” that was every idol group’s dream, right? to gather a large fanbase that varied so that they could appeal to more types of people.
she nodded her head when the other agreed with her about the practice rooms. “i agree,” she exclaimed, “but i guess that wouldn’t actually make sense since they’re pretty new.” she knew that the other was also just messing around and joking with her, but solji couldn’t help but laugh for a bit if they really did suggest something like that. soon enough, however, the photographer was looking for chaeyoung to shoot her shots.
“good luck!” she cried, pumping up her fist as she got up to stretch. maybe she’d go take a walk and enjoy this momentary freedom.
each day passes by faster than chaeyoung could imagine and even after a couple of days since their debut, a part of her felt as if she was one of the new kids who had entered the idol industry. everything felt like a new experience to her and while there was a bit of excitement wondering what today’s schedule was, so was the nervousness that she would have to cope with.
seeing that they didn’t have any important events to attend to in the morning, chaeyoung spent a few more hours in the dorms as she mentally prepared herself for idol radio. as someone who was a huge fan of the said radio show, she was aware of the fact that she had to be as engaging as possible. “hey, solji?” chaeyoung calls out to her friend as closes a book that she was reading. with a few more hours before 9pm, she stretches her arms and lays down on the bed. “are you ready for idol radio? i’m actually pretty excited since it is one of my favorite radio shows. one of my favorite segments there is when they expect you to give your best walk and poses. i feel like you probably have some impressive poses worth showing off!”

task for the month: music video filming!
with the constant outfit changes, chaeyoung takes those brief moments to enjoy everything that is happening. for someone who loved acting, being a part of a music video was quite exciting for her. while the acting that they had to do wasn’t as serious as some of their sunbaes’ music videos, she did like the experience that she was receiving in the past couple of hours.
after and*roma was done filming for deja vu, chaeyoung saw the set for pepe and was in awe over how everything was. a part of her felt that pepe even suited her more after seeing the set and imagining how certain scenes would look like. her smile grew wider (despite the lack of sleep) as she was told to change her outfit. thinking that they would have to work on one of the dance scenes, chaeyoung is caught by surprised when they had told her that they needed to record some beauty shots of her.
“huh?” chaeyoung reacted, wondering if by chance, she misheard them or was mistaken by another person. but when she got the confirmation that it was her, chaeyoung felt a sense of pride and happiness. this was within her realm and it was a dream of hers to be able to be in a music video. once chaeyoung arrived at her designated spot, she listens to the directions that are given to her an executes each shot to the best of her ability.
when she is given a chance to see how the scenes were, chaeyoung couldn’t help but to be amazed over the fact that it was her. “that’s me, right?” she asked in disbelief as she points to the screen. even though she knows that she should use this moment to monitor and figure out what she needed to work on, all chaeyoung wanted to do was show how happy she was over everything that had happened to her. the happiness disappeared immediately when chaeyoung was reminded that there was still so much filming and recording left, which caused her to focus back to the task at hand as she waited for the rest of the members to come so that they could film their dance sequence.
A staff member leads you down NOVA’S winding hallways to Hyun Bin’s office, then opens the door and leads you inside, where the CEO awaits, sitting at his desk with his hands folded on top of it. His fingers are drumming against each other as he watches you enter. It seems as if he has been waiting for you already. Seated across from his desk, next to an empty chair, is a company lawyer whom you recognize from before; she’d been present when you signed your initial company contract. The staff member directs you to take the empty chair next to the lawyer and then leaves. You hear the door close and the latch click back into place as your CEO continues to look at you. After a moment of silence, he clears his throat and decides to speak up.
“Whenever I offer a position in this company, I am confident that this person is deserving of a spot in NOVA Entertainment and will be able to accomplish something great with our help and resources. I have high hopes for each and every one of my trainees to not give up somewhere along the path and make it until here: debut.”
“And you didn’t disappoint me. During the Supernova Project, you got your chance to show me what you are made of and made good use of it. I was able to follow your ups and downs and to watch you grow from every experience throughout your training and this project. You showed me that you are deserving of this spot in AND*ROMA. You had to wait a bit longer for things to come together, but it’s finally here.” He trails off, and diverts his attention to his desk, where he pulls a manila folder from a pile on the edge of his desk and sets it down in front of you. “This here,” he says, opening the folder to reveal a single sheet of paper, “is a contract exclusive to AND*ROMA and will tie you to this group, and to NOVA Entertainment, for the next six years.”
“Hard work doesn’t stop after debut. It only begins.” There’s a hint of a smile on his lips as he hands you a pen. “But if you are ready to do so and want to become a part of the top new girl group of Korea with my help, you know what to do.”
after filming the music videos, chaeyoung felt that bit of excitement every day knowing that she was getting closer to their debut date. but as it grew closer to november 18, so did the amount of work that they would have to do. in a couple more days it would be the samsung wonderland and for the first time, and*roma would appear in an event together as a group. however, there was one thing that chaeyoung had to focus on and it’s one that she completely forgets, which is her contract.
as chaeyoung walks side by side with the staff member, she is calm and ready to take on whatever would happen to her in the next couple of minutes. seeing hyun bin through sn project was one thing, but now she was here in his office and chaeyoung couldn’t help but think back about all of the encounters she had with the man in front of him. bowing her head out of respect, she greets her boss with a beaming smile on her face. taking a seat across from hyun bin, chaeyoung scans around her surroundings to gather some clues as to what they were going to discuss. her immediate attention is towards the lawyer and chaeyoung bows her head again towards her before her eyes meet with hyun bin.
“i hope you’ve been doing well.” her voice is soft and there is a part of her that hopes that hyun bin didn’t catch everything she had said to him. fortunately hyun bin had begun the meeting with his explanation and everything he had told her so far is comforting to her. in fact, it reminded her of the struggles she had a few months prior about nova trusting her so much. there were days when she pondered if it was a good idea for hyun bin to give her that much trust but after talking to solji, she could see why he would feel that way. she did well during sn project and was confirmed early on that she would be one of the two people in and*roma’s final lineup so he saw her potential since then.
“…during the supernova project, you got your chance to show me what you are made of and made good use of it.”
chaeyoung’s smile grew as she hears such words from hyun bin. there was the inclination to interrupt him and comment about his statement yet she felt that doing so would be considered disrespectful. so instead she nods her head in agreement as he continues his speech. when the folder is set right in front of her, chaeyoung looks at the older man with confusion before she understands what was inside the folder. it was a six year contract and chaeyoung immediately thought about how her life would be in the next six years. for someone who only had one simple goal at such a young age, now she had to spend the following six years finding that next dream — one that she could chase after just like she did for most of her life.
chaeyoung takes in those couple of seconds to comprehend everything that is going on. the pen is placed right next to the folder and as chaeyoung quickly glances through the contract, she begins to speak, “thank you for trusting me so much especially since the supernova project. i felt the immense trust that you have towards me and while it can be a bit nerve-wracking at times, i know you only want to do what is best for us. i like to think this is your way of challenging me to become a better performer.” she pauses as she recalls any other details that caught her attention during hyun bin’s speech.
“and hyun bin sajang-nim?” chaeyoung calls him, hoping to get his attention even for a brief moment over what she is about to tell him. “thank you too for giving us this chance to be a part of the project and a chance to debut. it means so much to me especially that you helped me accomplished one of my lifetime goals. now it’s time that i help yours and make and*roma a group that you can be proud of.” signing her name on the paper, she adds another comment to lighten the serious mood surrounding the room. “by the way, i’d like to think of this contract as an early christmas gift from nova.” she knew that if it wasn’t the fact that they were debuting next month, she would have waited a few more months for her trainee contract to have ended and that itself was a frightening thought for her. chaeyoung lifts the pen after drawing her quick smiley face near the end of her signature and places it back where it belongs.
getting up from her seat, she bows once again. looking up at her boss, she smiles as she concludes the meeting with her statement. “have a nice day and i promise i’ll work hard!”

Should Chaeyoung choose to SIGN the AND*ROMA contract, she will be employed by NOVA Entertainment without a need to renew a contract until the duration of this one has concluded. As a reward for making it this far, she will receive THREE WEEKENDS unpaid vacation time to use any time between now and the end of January, so long as it doesn’t clash with any special debut activities (such as music show appearances, meaning she can’t actually use her vacation time until after her music show performances have finished.)
Should she choose to REJECT this contract with NOVA and AND*ROMA, she will leave the company, effective immediately upon rejection. She will be able to keep all of her debut points, but will not be able to take any trainee workshops or earn any more debut points/workshop points until she becomes a trainee again. She will not have any special advantage over newer characters when she auditions for other companies in the future, and should she become a trainee at a new company she will be considered a junior trainee all over again, even though she will still have her debut points and would be eligible for debut right away. She WILL have the right to audition for NOVA again, but the fact that she gave up a contract renewal, especially a debut one, WILL be taken into account in final casting decisions.
She will have up to one week to make her decision IC, meaning that if he does not make a decision by October 26th, she will automatically be cut from the company. Exceptions can be made for those on hiatus.
