When Studor Group rounds and says your whiteboards are too complicated.
When youāre so tired of the negativity and pettiness at work you start losing your cool. At least youāre thinking it
Me waking up for night shift.
Personally, Iām looking forward to reading the article about how MillennialsĀ killed the NRA
When you have multiple continuous drips and IV antibiotics that aren't compatible
I hear this too much
āI shouldnāt have to/donāt want to pay for someone elseās healthcare.ā
Just to be clear, if you have health insurance or partake of healthcare as a consumer in any way, you are already paying for those who donāt have coverage. And usually weāre paying for their expensive catastrophes, not cheap preventative care. To say that expanding coverage is not financially doable is either incredibly naive or willfully ignorant.Ā
Yes, the machinations of the industry are complex and the money trail is convoluted. But healthcare is inherently social. It doesnāt take an economist to know that paying ten bucks for someoneās blood pressure medicine makes more sense than footing the bill for 500K after their hemorrhagic stroke.Ā
Also itās just the right thing to do.Ā
When I realize Iām the most senior nurse working on the floor that night
You know...
I feel like one thing they should teach these poor new grads coming in is how to cope with petty and duplicitous nurses...because Jesus there are a lot of them.
oh noooo (by Will Varner)
My brain
Me, in our med room, trying to find meds that arenāt in short supply/backordered
Never underestimate the power of a good cup of tea.
Me, when people ask what itās like to work the holidays...
Management: āDid you update the whiteboard?ā Me:
Me, when the unit is in chaos but I have to chart sometimeā¦
Me, when Iām trying to give report and go home but my ADD coworker wonāt pay attentionā¦
When my poor patient keeps spitting up particularly thick wads of mucus and handing me the tissueā¦
