Did you give some advice to broken hearted Ryu Jun Yeol to comfort him? > Even after the confession scene, we (actors) thought that there might be twist, so we didn’t lose hope, but Junghwan already folded his feelings earlier. “I think this is the end”, he said while being very upset.  So I told to Junghwan, “However, R88’s bubble will burst soon, so don’t fall too deep and come move on quickly.” In real life too, I told him this kind of advice, though it is hurtful and upsetting, he should think about his next project, so it’s important to move on fast.

How do you feel when you heard about Ryu Jun Yeol and Ahn Jaehong are chosen to be your sons? > On my first meeting with the director he said to me, “You have two sons, but because they’re not handsome sons, just don’t expect too much.” So I jokingly replied to him, “if they’re not handsome and young actors, I won’t do this.” (laugh) But when I saw them for the first time I said, “they take after me”, that’s how much we look alike. It’s true that they’re not handsome but because they take after me, I can’t say anything. (laugh) Although they’re not handsome, yet the more you look at these two guys, they are very charming. When you fall for not-so-good-looking man, you have nothing to say. Many people has fallen for them and it might be hard to move on from them.

The most memorable scene? > Every scene is memorable, but the most memorable one is the passport scene where Miran doesn’t know how to read the (English) alphabet spelling. That time all the feelings I couldn’t think of all came up to me. And also, on first episode, when Junghwan goes straight to his room without say anything to Mom, because I have a son in real life so I was really upset.

The first time Max Movie met Ryu Jun Yeol for <Socialphobia>, he still has no agency nor a manager, and he found our studio by himself by riding a bus. He then greeted me and also gave me his name card, which he took out from his bag. On the name card, there is a picture of Ryu Jun Yeol smiling with his braces shown at a place similar to the Ssangmundong road. It contains his name, birth date, mobile phone number, email address, and even packed with his filmography list. To receive a name card from an actor, it was my first experience. “Did you make it by yourself?” “Yes! I should introduce myself with this.” Ryu Jun Yeol is surely different. Ryu Jun Yeol’s eyes widened of curiosity after hearing that I am in charge of interviewing Rookie actors. “Among the rookie actors you have interviewed, was there anyone who have become superstar?” “There is none yet. Please Ryu Jun Yeol, be one.” And he smiled until his eyes vanished in one line. “It will be good if it happens.” he answered. That was the story of April 2015. Few months later, he really became a superstar.

Right now, he doesn’t need to give out his own name card anymore. I am not sure if the story of his “handmade name card” already became a memory. But Ryu Jun Yeol’s passion and sincerity still has not change. If I meet him again, I need to get a sign on that valuable and rare name card. And I really want to say this to him, “you’ve really become a superstar.”

Ryu Jun Yeol and Park Narae were selected as 2016 Most Anticipated Figure on “2016 Korea First Brand Grand Awards”. Last January 26, 2016, both conveyed their happiness and gratefulness through an awards speech video.

According to the Consumer Forum, Ryu Jun Yeol said in his award speech video “to be directly selected as ‘2016 Most Anticipated Figure’ by the consumers, I feel very happy and grateful to be selected for this special award. I am thinking that this 14th Anniversary of Korea First Brand Grand Prize award has become a meaningful award for every prize winning brand. It is not only for me, but I would like to send my congratulations to all brands, companies, and figures that has been selected here.” Actor Ryu Jun Yeol has received public attention since his characteristic acting on Socialphobia (2015) and also received a huge amount of love through his drama Reply 1988.

To celebrate the 14th Anniversary of the Korea First Brand Grand Awards, they made time to select the #1 satisfying brand in Korea. Since 2003, towards the end of the year, consumers answer a survey online and offline to choose “Korea’s First Brand”. And for 2016, a special trend award were given to brands and figures who are expected to give positive influence in the society. Korean Consumer Forum has cast their votes last November 19, 2015 - December 4, 2015,  and evaluated 320 brands candidates which were divided unto politics, entertainment, cultural and sports section. Last December 3 to 4, around 300 people ranging from 20s to 30s has joined the on-site voting. The results of the voting led to 50 Brands nominated for the grand award and another 25 brands and figures were nominated for the special awards.

Special Award Prize winners selected were figures such as Chairman Choi Byun Oh from Fashion group Hyungji, Chinese Food Master Lee Yeon Bok, Paris Croissant best brand Paris Banquette, Mobile Payment System Samsung PAy, SBS drama 'Saimdang, the Herstory’, and among these includes Gagwoman Park Narae, and Actor Ryu Jun Yeol, along with 7 other brands.
