WOW, I haven't been on here in ages
I love Star Wars, but I will always be surprised by and hate the adoration people display for the Empire without a hint of irony. Just today I saw someone say "we've always seen the rebellion as the good guys, it's time we saw the other side of the coin" like if you don't see what the problem with that is, I don't want to talk to you.
here I drew this
incredible!!!!!!!!!! id love to see more
okay
pleeeeease make this a merch design
YEAHHHHH, the MERCH is here for TAX SEASON!!!!!
As some of you may know, a small indie company decided to content strike my original drawing, even though he is my own original character and he’s extremely unique. So I redesigned him into an extremely cute little guy that everyone has supported so well!!!!! Kinda like a fluffy bunny of sorts.
It’s been a while since my last sale, literally over 25,000 of u are new!!! You can get the TAX EVASION shirt or the EAT THE RICH shirt because things only keep getting worse in life and I must express it :)

Something really menacing about how the timeline got messed up here. Pukicho replied to a post *from the past*.
Thousands of people have gathered today in the Market Square of Gernika (Bizkaia) - the same place that was bombed by nazis in 1937 - to show support to Gazan people and condemn that what Israel is doing to them is what nazis did to Basque people way back then.
Palestina askatu!! Stop the genocide!!

don't loose hope, there is love in life, there is community. people are coming together to protest all over the world, people are finding solidarity with each other even among the horror, people want to help. over the course of hours i saw hundreds come together from all over the world online to buy e-sim cards for the gaza reporters (they've succeeded in getting internet access to key online press reporters and are working to connect more), i've seen stories of people coming together in their grief and joy. despite the darkness there really is love. and i do believe that it is fundamental to the human condition.
Palestinians prepare food for the displaced families in the south of Gaza Strip. 10-28-2023
We’ve prepared a poster expressing support for Palestinians, who are currently threatened by ethnic cleansing.

“Contrary to the promises of Israeli politicians, neither the apartheid policies of the Israeli government nor the brutality of the Israeli military have brought safety to anyone in the region. There is no way to stop to the bloodshed without putting an end to the colonial oppression of Palestinians.
“In any struggle, those who have the most power and access to resources have the most leverage in determining what form the conflict will take. The Israeli government has exponentially more arms and funding than any Palestinian group; across the course of decades, it has inflicted exponentially more casualties. Some of its staunchest supporters are Christian nationalists and neoliberals seeking leverage in the oil-rich Mideast. Any effort towards change in the region must begin by confronting their support.”

btw there was actually an art project led by three students (Ail Hwang, Hae-Ryaan Jeon and Ghung Ki Park) in Germany to install colorful window panes onto an electrical transmission tower to create a stained glass mosaic effect, called "Leuchtturm" ("lighthouse") and even such a simple effect is dazzling
imagine looking up at one of these and being surrounded by illustrations and iconography climbing to the heavens

Twitter never has and never will be a vehicle for democratic expression. It is a privately held corporation that monetizes human expression and algorithmically maximizes its distribution for profit, and what turns out to be most profitable is sowing social, cultural, and political division. Its participants are a very tiny, skewed slice of humanity that has American journalism in a choke hold.

Well, red is the correct answer, obviously
Me when I find:
What's that poem about the cockroach and the moth where the cockroach is like "I wish I've ever wanted anything the way that moth wanted to burn itself up in that lantern" because we had to read that in high school and it still fucks me up to this day
Ok I found it it's called "the lesson of the moth by archy" and it's by Don Marquis
An old favorite. (And the incident with the moth in The Door into Fire is a nod toward this, though not an obvious one.)

Hey, Science Side of Tumblr,
I have a question:
So I'm vaguely aware that sand becomes glass under extreme heat (and pressure??)
But, like, if you chucked a bucket of sand into a furnace, or set up a huge fire on a beach, what colour would the glass be? In its rawest form, I mean? Obviously glass gets tinted and painted and altered and purified and stuff but... which colour is the closest to raw glass?
Depends on the sand. Ultimately you can make glass out of only sand just by heating it up at ungodly temperatures (1700°C aka 3090°F), so it won't work by just starting a fire on the beach... but the simple sand glass itself is going to be transparent and colourless. The issue is that it will Absolutely Not be pure sand and whatever else is in there (if at the beach, bits of shells and dead life and other rocks, or if in the desert, other types of rocks, and wrong kinds of sand etc) will give its colour. Or failing that, it will give a dark colour because it burnt to a blackened crisp when heating to the aforementioned ungodly temperature. Pure glass is transparent - it's just silica (though usually we give it better properties with lime and soda). Only impure glass can be something else.
Can't believe I got an answer!! Thank you, part of Science Side!
