whumpee who escaped an abusive relationship with old whumper a long time ago and has mostly gotten over it getting into an argument with their new whumper partner and being stunned into complete silence after getting slapped. they get instantly transported back there, all over again. it was all in vain

Give me protective knight and chronically ill prince. Knight who stands at the door day and night to make sure his prince is only interrupted when absolutely necessary.

Knight who makes sure the kitchen knows what to accommodate that day (head pain means soft food, jaw locked means soup, fatigue grants him a smoothie). Knight who will feed him if needed, and always sits with him while he eats because he eats better that way.

Knight who has no problem telling other nobles that their meeting with the prince has been canceled because he had a rough night and needs extra sleep.

Knight who does stretches with his royal so he feels less alone. They do breathing exercises and stretches every morning and night. It's just routine now, it's normal.

And what if rap WAS only about sex, violence, and drugs... what then? Would you be justified in looking down upon it as not being "real" art? What would your justification be? Sex is immoral and taboo? Drugs should never be mentioned outside of D.A.R.E programs? Songs about violence turn children to it? Would you turn that standard to other genres as well? I know you wouldn't, I know you haven't, because it's never really been about the topics explored.

Ok so lemme get this straight the boys get advertised their body weight in protein powder and girls are told to get by on uncooked foliage and I’m supposed to believe that the observed differences in gender are strictly because of sex chromosomes with no cultural influence at all uh huh sure hey buddy what kind of idiot

whumpee who was extensively sexually abused on some kind of captivity or ongoing situation they had no ability or power to leave, or by people they had to be around and were made to feel they couldn't say no to. they're deeply traumatized, and it took them a long time to trust their new team/friends/the people around them now. but they do. they trust those people, they know they're safe, and even when they don't know, they're helped to remember with reminders, with ongoing, constant proof every day.

and then they run into someone they knew before, back when it was bad. maybe it's someone else who was being abused in the same way, or someone who knew what was happening but also couldn't stop it for reasons out of their control. and this person regards whumpee's new people with nothing less than unbridled suspicion. and whumpee is the one to reassure them - it's okay. it's not like that anymore. they... they're good to me. they take care of me. they trust me, and i trust them. nobody- nobody fucks me anymore. nobody makes me... do things. they're safe. i'm safe.

all the while their new team/etc watches, astonished. maybe they didn't know the extent of the abuse. maybe they didn't know anyone else knew. maybe it's just shocking to hear whumpee discussing it so openly, and professing such profound faith in them, such trust. they're determined to keep earning it - keep deserving it. they're going to keep proving that everything whumpee said was true.
