I hate the view too many people have on this site that when a creator makes a character whose entire role in the story is to be a villain somehow reflects the writer as a bigot. Like the entire point of the evil character is to be conflict in the story and will do things in-line with their characterisation. The writer gives you the responsibility to understand that when Mr homophobe, the homophobic character who is portrayed as being wrong and antagonistic in the story is being homophobic he is expressing attitudes and behaviours that fundamentally differ from the overall meaning of the piece of media not the deep held beliefs of the creator, bonus points if it’s a morally gray character. Like what do you want them to do, you can’t just tell the viewers that this person is bad but not actually show us the character doing anything wrong. And when they portray the same character doing positive things whilst still sticking to their established characterisation it’s not erasure or normalisation of bigotry it’s making a morally complex character. It’s making them realistic, go outside and talk to anyone they are more than likely going to differ from you in terms of morals. Like sure if the creator openly expresses bigoted beliefs as their own then yeah they are obviously a bigot but if a creator makes a character who’s purpose is to be a bigot as part of the story then it’s completely different. Learn media literacy you goons

Prefacing this by saying that I only started watching the show after episode 8 came out so I am very new to the fandom and everything.

I am genuinely devastated by how this show ends. I think it’s such a terrible disservice to the characters and the previous episodes that in my opinion were genuinely great. Especially when it comes to Jax. I know his character is important to so many people (low-key me too) and I really think that he was written so well up until the leaked episode.

The responses I have seen from many people in the fandom just make me feel sad though. Gooseworx does not deserve the level of hate they are receiving for this. This show is fictional and it is their work. They can do what they want with it.

I’ve seen so many people (including myself) say that they don’t want to make indie projects they were planning because of how cruel and entitled the tadc fans are. Acting like this is just a facet of indie projects and not something that can happen to any show is kinda weird honestly. This is coming from someone who has seen the Supernatural finale, the umbrella academy finale and the Good omens one. I would say some of these are definitely worse endings.

Idk like join the rest of us on ao3 re-writing the shit we don’t like instead of harassing the creators. I think it’s just better to appreciate the show for what its previous episodes were and the good parts of the fandom and connect with more people through fanart and fanfic instead. Idk lol. I don’t really post on tumblr so idk if this will be read at all.
