They just shut down the eShop too lmao
There should be zero legal protections for abandoned tech. If Nintendo no longer sells certain games and consoles, it should be 100% legal for people to make copies and build their own consoles. In fact, Nintendo should be required to release all development tools relating to their past consoles so that people who still give a shit about them can produce high-quality consoles and games. It should be possible for someone in nowhere Kansas to produce a brand new, official quality copy of Pokemon Emerald to play on original hardware the way it was intended.
This is not an issue of piracy and intellectual property, this is an issue of art preservation. It took decades for video games to finally reach the point of being largely considered art, but game companies do not respect their own productions as art. If they did, they would care about those pieces of art being available for as long as people wish to consume them, even if it means letting them out of their iron grip.
Yeah.
itās 2am but anyways
those two have a similar story to queen charlotte and king george, and simon and betty. but it may also be a sort of enemies to lovers?? and some tragedies ofc
so the story of sabali and benoni (ben; later his father changes his name to benjamin). sabali is of the eastern banks of (place of origin), having a high status resembling that of royalty in her homeland. as one of the eldest in her family, yet the only girl, she is sent to the reigns of king aldrich and queen rachelle, who died during benoniās birth, to marry their only son per their requests as an attempt to unify the east and the west.
sabali is against the marriage, however she recognizes both her duty and her entire helplessness in the situation. upon meeting benoni, who was anxious to meet his future bride and soon to be queen of his kingdom, they click. but they are unaware of this. they realize theyāre vastly different from one another, but admire each otherās shared sense of responsibility and dignity. sabali reminds ben of his late mother, particularly of her confidence and will to lead and protect above all laws and royal procedures. ben, on the other hand, teaches sabali that thereās more to life than rules and a kingdom, and that people and experiences matter above all duties in life.
eventually, they open up to each other. sabali lets ben know about her late partner, another arranged marriage with similar purposes, whom loved her but she never loved back. she tells him of her guilt for not having given him everything just as he had given her everything. ben then tells sabali of his parents, and how she reminds her of the best and most unspoken aspects of his mother. here sabali realizes that she wants to love someone just as her late husband had loved her.
thereās some obstacles and part of the story i havenāt really planned yet, but at some point they get separated as they meet acasia, a girl who promises the king the unlocking of memories he had unknowingly hid about his parents. this is important bc of the plot and his dad being involved in it hehe. he goes on a self discovery journey with acasia and learns a lot about her.
more story i havenāt planned goes by but eventually sabali and ben marry and become royalty, with his father renaming him benjamin during the ceremony. āthe name of a true king, fit for the grace of his queen.ā
thatās all i have so far :P throughout their story they have a lot of disagreements that only make sense at the end when theyāre like āooohhh i donāt hate you, i LOVE you thatās wackā
the resolution is that, like simon and betty, theyāre destined to end up apart for the better of literally everyone else. he can never have her; she can never be his.

working on a og story based on real historical facts (cultures, events, locations, etc etc) is exhausting but also very refreshing
plus researching while sprinkling your own hcās of actual historical facts is much cooler than i thought it would be
anyways hereās some art š
