You can always find quartz stones of various shapes and colors. I, for one, collect them all. It would be a shame to just leave them lying around, wouldn't it?
Fossilized corals are abundant in the Philippines, but beautiful pieces are still hard to find. But as with everything, the good ones are always found by luck. This beautiful coral is from the mountains near Bayawan.
Finding a beautiful jasper to cut with a diamond saw isn't always easy. Here's one of my favorite pieces that's about to be sawed.
The passion for collecting stones usually stems from a chance discovery. In my case, it was a carnelian with an amethyst inclusion.
