I almost religiously wear a necklace with an amethyst pendant that my boyfriend at the time (now best friend) had gotten my because amethyst is my favorite stone. Not my birth stone, but he gave it to me for my birthday and I almost never take it off. It's one of the few very thoughtful gifts that I have been given in my life so far.
