     “Adult or not, it doesn’t mean you need to pull things like that without warning.” With a little sigh, she looks away from him before rolling her eyes. “You’re just lucky it’s our pokémon that are here and not some other person or I would have pushed you into the water.”

     As she speaks, her gaze shifts to the river. At a lazy pace more than anything, it was more than safe for them to be out at this point in time, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves all the same.

     “Well I mean it was tough enough not to, but..”  He looks out at her pokemon and the shore nearby where his were sunning themselves.  “Would you mind if I did again?  I mean we’re both here and neither of us seemed to mind?”  Nervous laughter bubbles from him and he scratches the back of his neck before looking back to her.

     “So yeah.  I guess consider this me asking this time?”

     “And if I’d said no to begin with? I mean, logically, I could have easily ended up with Ash or something, too. Not that I would have– but, still. That’s not exactly the best planning ever, you know.” She’s obviously far from serious at this point– that’s the only reason the comment is so biting.

     “That... That’s a good point.  Touche.  But you know he’s got two left feet I mean have you seen him even trying to do the macarena?  Seriously it’s kinda scary.”  He laughs a little before hanging his head.  “Though I guess if you would’ve ended up with Ash I’d support you... Even if I would’ve been pretty damn bummed.”

     “You could have at least warned me, though,” she mumbles, looking away from him. “Plus, if you haven’t noticed we are in public and there’s no reason to do that where people are going to see.” Look who hasn’t changed in the past few years– why would she have, though? It’s not like she had any real reason to. As he shoves his hands in his pockets, she straightens her jacket.

     “Yeah,  sorry about that..”  He laughs a little again at her words and just watches as she straightens her jacket before shrugging.  “Maybe it’s all my old repressed teenage sexuality coming back to haunt me or something?”  He pulls a hand from his pocket and ruffles her hair.  “Besides it’s not like it’s something weird.  We’re both adults, right?”  He leans down a little, eyebrows raised.  “I mean you’re only three years younger than me, so I’d assume you’re an adult.”

     “I don’t know, are you?”

     Alittle lean into his chest and her arm wrapping over the back of his neck, she looks up at him. “You must have purposefully struck out with all those girls before. That’s kind of sad, in all honesty.”

     “Okay now that was just mean...”  He mutters as his hand adjusts on her waist.  “Maybe I did, though.  I mean maybe I was just practicing so I could come here and slow dance with you like this, huh?”  A very smooth save indeed, Brock.

     She hadn’t expected to be pulled in like she had, by the front of her jacket, and the lips on hers were actually pretty forceful, not that she minds it, really.

     “Ididn’t know that my pun was that bad, she remarks, more or less brushing it off as a joke after their lips had separated.

     He laughed a little, hand rubbing at the back of his neck.  “Uh, sorry.  I mean...”  He kicks a little at the dirt, hands moving to his pockets with a grin on his face.  “The pun was great, you just... I mean it’s hard not to kiss a pretty girl, you know?”  A smooth save, really.

     That had been a mild surprise on her end in all honesty– this had happened only once before, and even then she was a little surprised that he could actually dance without being weird about it. Either way, she lets him lead with a small mock-roll of her eyes. “Looks like someone’s learning how to actually romance a girl. Took you long enough.”

     He laughs a little when she rolls her eyes and can’t help but to hang his head as she speaks.  “I know how to romance a girl, Misty.”  He twirls a little and pulls her to his chest.  “I mean I’m doing just fine right now, aren’t I?”

     He just kind of stared at the girl and raised his eyebrows.  “Your Vulpix stole your sandwich?”  He tilted his head a moment and hummed.  “I was just making some stew actually.  You want a bowl?”  He really always was the Mr. Mom.
