Non-Spoiler Remarks about Life is Strange: Reunion.
Just finished my playthrough of LIS Reunion. To lay your weary minds to rest, it's great. Not perfect by any means, but seeing Max and Chloe together again was amazing. I wish it was longer, and I wanted more scenes with them, but I am pleased with what we were given. It was a worthy finale and I think D9 actually delivered a solid game for once. I gets a solid 8/10. Up there with BTS.
Hannah Telle and Rhianna DeVries's performances were amazing.
Time to let this franchise rest. Leave it off on a good note.
I want to talk about Life is Strange for a little. Mainly about Double Reunion and Reunion coming out.
Spoilers! If you haven't played the OGs.
Now it's been a long time since I've played LIS. I've gotten older, more experienced with life, and more resistant to change. More grays, too.
I absolutely adored LIS1. My favorite choice based game ever probably. I love Max, and OH GOD was Chloe my disaster manic dream girl.
I also played Before the Storm, and while not as good as the first game, it has it's place and didn't disrupt any of the source narrative. I was nervous about the new Chloe VA, because Ashley Burch's performance was iconic. It took a moment to get use to, but once she replaced the expectations I had with accepting something new, but not bad. She is honestly awesome. She has the same voice range and inflections Chloe would have.
Now we come to Double Exposure. I never played it. I was scared of being disappointed, so I pretended it didn't exist.
So I decided to give it a shot with Reunion coming it. It definitely has some flaws. But it's not the worst game ever made (i say this knowing it falls apart after chapter 3).
Im doing a chronological timeline playthough, starting with Farewell and BTS, then LIS1.
First of all, the Remasters are buggy ass. While some of the facial animation is way better when the game works, it has been a goddamn struggle to get through the remasters. But i did it, with many checkpoint reloads and full on crashes. (PS5)
For the sake of Reunion I did it. Why am I so excited about Reunion you ask?
Because Chloe okay. Moving on.
Im at chapter 3 now in DE. I love Max. She is honestly so good in this. Max was always awesome. But she is literally carrying DE on her shoulders. Hannah Telle has grown so much as an actress and what D9 have done with Max's adult model is beautiful. She looks amazing. The rest of the story is a bit muddy so far, I understand it gets bad in the end. There are good nuggets here n there, but the biggest reason I'm sorta enjoying the game is Max. Playing it with the idea that Reunion is coming soon really helps too.
From what I've seen of Reunion, I'm pretty excited. Chloe's return is woven real nice into the plot of DE and there is potential for some amazing scenes. Rhianna Devries is killing it once again as Chloe. The LIS1 ending choice really has an impact on Chloe and Max's relationship.
I normally always save sacrifice Arcadia Bay because fuck that town, but for some reason, on my chrono playthrough I've decided that the "Sacrifice Chloe" route would be the most interesting and best fit for Reunion. How will Max handle being around the girl she had to let go showing up after 10 years of mourning. It's such an interesting dynamic.
Im so pumped for this. I hope others I too. Reunion looks to be something special.

Probably the first hetero-ship I've been all in with in a very long time. I love the pacing and the slow-build enemies to lovers. The writing is so damn good.
