How about a nice cup of soykaf before going on another run? Find out how to make it in this video :)
Now I’m curious, time to take a trip to my local food co-op to buy soy beans for roasting....hmmmmm.

@faitherinhicks tweeting a little pep talk for “older” aspiring artists/cartoonists (funny to call anyone in their late 20s “older” but that’s how it feels in comics and many other creative industries). That last tweet is important, you are not an athlete where typically your prime years are all but over by 30, if you’re consistently working on your art, you should only be improving with time and experience.
I feel like I need to keep reminding myself of this.
Yeah, this hits home for me a lot. (Warning lots of text under cut)
At age 25, I was in the middle of mentally breaking down on over how pathetic my life had been after I graduated (working nothing but jobs OTHER than art, no freetime, fuck all money, blah blah blah), especially compared to a lot of my fellow alum from my alma mater.
It took maybe another year, in which I was losing those jobs multiple times, withdrawing from all my friends and most of my family, suffering a complete mental breakdown (hospital, antidepressants, therapy and who knows what else for at least another 3 months), and had to move back in with my mother in the middle of nowhere, who cares, USA... before I came to the epiphany I’m done comparing myself to others and being a perfectionist. If I’m going to draw a comic until the day I die, I might as well just sit down, shut up, and make more comic, regardless of if everybody hates it/me/whatever else. I tried being something I wasn’t (a “normal” person living up to “society’s expectations”), and I despised every moment of it, hell, in those moments, I nearly decided to say “Game Over” to everything, including life itself. Luckily that also was a complete bust.
So in short, sure, I’m not super popular, and I’m probably the poster child for “the outsider artist/person/whatever” (I mean, my studio is exactly that, “RogueStudio”, I am RogueTheRogue, or just “Rogue”....), grinding and never quite knowing where my future is going.
Despite that, I am always ever the more grateful for the knowledge I earn networking with people in the comics industry, for every page I script, pencil, ink, color/tone, letter, and finish in a printed (digital or dead tree) product. Through it all, being able to tell a story...has been there for me.They might not be the best pages in the world, but for every page I complete, is another period of time in which I’m alive, doing what I actually care about, and, there’s always the next page to do better (and I will do better!).
(oh dear god, spiel of the century, but, sure, that’s what roguestuff is for...stuff....and things....)
Need a print of this.

JUST PRESS PLAY.
UMMMMMMMM.....
*fun fact, I kinda had a crush in elementary school on this guy, because dark, tall, and I thought I was the only one with intense levels of sarcasm until I heard him in that movie...oh...and dinosaurs. And chaos. Whoo.*
New Retro Arcade is a fantastic 80′s arcade simulator that allows players to explore and play real retro games on authentic MAME arcade machines, Super Nintendo’s and Game Boy’s.
We’ve seen similar virtual arcades before with Microsoft’s Game Room and Anarchy Arcade, but nothing with the amount of detail and ease of use of New Retro Arcade. As you explore this retro haven, you really are transported back to the 80’s, complete with classic decor, full of glowing neon and classic movie posters. There’s also a boombox that you can insert new cassette tapes into to change the music, from the Smiths to Michael Jackson – the devs really have thought of everything.
The main draw are the retro games though, every arcade cabinet looks authentic and is playable the moment you walk up to it. You can even play a selection of Game Boy and SNES games, even changing out cartridges on the SNES to change games. You don’t just have to stick to playing video games either – you can play darts, 10 pin bowling or even shoot some hoops. To get fully immersed in the virtual arcade experience you can also hook up an Oculus Rift and truly enter the arcade.
It’s a sad fact of life that arcade gaming is dying out, but New Retro Arcade with it can live on forever. It’s the perfect way to play classic arcade games the way they were meant to be played – in an arcade. This really is retro gaming nirvana – highly recommended.

This is literally the stupidest comic I have ever made and I’m not even sorry
As most of my followers know, I’ve opened up a trade system (details in this post) in which a five dollar (or more) donation will earn you a copy of my novel, The Wishing Maiden, for download.
Unfortunately, my financial situation doesn’t appear to be getting any...

An essential purchase is DC’s MAD ARCHIVES hardcover collection.

In light of Bartkira, here’s Katsuhiro Otomo’s Batshort, The Third Mask, from Batman: Black and White Vol. 1
I EFFIN LOVE KATSUHIRO OTOMO (大ー大ー大好き~!)
Akira has not been far from me while I've been pencilling lately. I particularly admire his background work (not too evident here but look at Akira and some other stuff of his)....if mine can be as sexy as that one day, I can die a happy person.

Really great information on foreshortening body parts and perspective.
