Idk why both the movie and the series refuse to make trillian an actual arab. The book describes her as an arab explicitly. So why does she look like this??

Idk if this is too woke of me or not woke enough but I don’t get making a character described as white be played by a black actor and then making a character described as an actual poc white. Like am i dumb?? Is there a reason?? Were all tge arab actresses like busy or uninterested?? I’m sure she COULD be cast accurately without compromising her character

awful to think this of real people! ...wdym this wouldnt make me think:

i dunno how much Korhonen put thought into who is which Beatle (apart from Don being John as "the leader") but 1: LOVING Gladstone as Ringo (still thinking of him as george and fethry as ringo but man let him be :D) 2: Gyro as George is insane (that's prolly only for the composition tho.. but paul would've been well in character for him) (i wonder if this lil choice threw me into the Beatles rabbit hole in the first place </3) 3: man Fethry would so come up with Sgt. Peppers :-D

this would mean: most songs being by either Donald or Fethry or both (..considering these real guys: this is why i said instead of don's cousin, gyro would be good as paul.....) i.e. Let It Be, Strawberry Fields Forever, A Day In The Life...

and (among others,) Here Comes The Sun, Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps would be Gyro's songs! (and of course the whole of All Things Must Pass cos it's so good (same for all their solo stuff obviously, love you Ram and Thomas the Tank Engine)) this is why i said insane i love this and him in the "role" of the youngest (brother, 17, in Hamburg 1960). and Gladstone would be singing Yellow Submarine :D

Uh since I've seen humanizations of duck characters here recently, this is the only drawing of human Scrooge and Flintheart I have, I drew it during class into my geology notebook right next to 2030 sustainable development goals, it's from at least 6 months ago (??) I hope you guys find some value in it

i think a mild but weird hater-ism in me is that i just do not fw with fenro.

Oh my god finally SOMEONE said it. I watched the show expecting them to actually care about each other or act gay since everyone seemed to love the ship, but nothing about them stuck out to me 💀

But actually I have reasons for not liking the ship:

Gyro's rude to Fenton ofc, but on top of Gyro not respecting him there's the workplace dynamic stuff. It's also the reason I heavily dislike Rockerjeeves; when you work for somebody, there's inherently a power imbalance that you can't avoid. You follow their lead, and are perceived as being below them in terms of value, consciously or not, and your LIVELYHOOD depends on them 😨 Like if this person decides to fire you, you lose a stream of income. This power imbalance makes you more susceptible to all kinds of abuse, and exploitation in the workplace (which Fenton and Jeeves endure) if we as fans mix romantic feelings into that, what kind of dynamic does that create? These characters CAN'T say no to things their bosses want them to do, because there's the threat of consequences, direct or not. It's COERCION.

Oh well, nothing that a 100k word fanfic can't fix

yeah, i feel like fanon vs canon fenro dynamic is very different in key places that makes it obvious that people don't consider the fact that gyro's his boss (even if gyro eventually treats him as an equal) (also i think that gyro projecting his Intern Trauma onto fenton is something that isn't really talked about)

i think the show as a whole (and i think other duckverse media can be included in this) really doesn't want you to think of rich people as bad or to think about workplace power dynamics in general... like how Gyro sometimes considered "family" in the show. (workplaces considering workers #family is a red flag. for me.)

Yeah I do agree that the show doesn't rly want you to think about the dynamics, like for example in the comics we get to see how bad Donald has it when he works for Scrooge while dt17 is much more focused on family being good and important

I should probably rewatch the show if I want to do more analysis
