Motivation: Stuck Figuring Out a Plot
bananamustache02 asked: When you think of plots for your story, how do you know what to write so that others will want to read it? Do you just look up things people like or do you post your story somewhere people will read it?
I’m not sure if you mean me specifically or writers in general? I’ll answer generally, though, since I think that will cover the most bases. :) It is definitely helpful to know what is popular and where mainstream popularity lies, but don’t feel like you have to be guided by that. If people only wrote what was popular at the time, we’d never see trends change, because there wouldn’t be any new trends. It’s very important for writers to be not just producers of stories, but consumers of stories, too. It’s by consuming other people’s stories that we find the raw materials for our own stories. So, read a lot of books, watch a lot of television, go to the movies, read magazines and newspapers, listen to a lot of music, learn history, and ask people to tell you about their experiences. The more stories you consume, the more plot ideas will occur to you. In the meantime, try writing prompts, story generators, or other inspirational tools and exercises. Many writing blogs on tumblr offer writing prompts. You can do a search for “story generator” and a few will come up. They’ll spit out some seeds that you can put together into a story. Writing Research - The Middle Ages
Middle Ages (or Medieval period), lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the collapse of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. The Middle Ages is the middle period of the three traditional divisions of Western history: Antiquity, Medieval period, and Modern period. The Medieval period is itself subdivided into the Early, the High, and the Late Middle Ages. [1] [2]

Sometimes I think about a darker alternate universe where demigods must survive on their own without Camps, without anybody to train and guide them, without any kind support system; turning tough and hard-hearted on the streets that many of them are forced to live on; finding one another (often by accident or luck or the most minimal of divine intervention) and forming groups, adapting, living in this world that isn’t made for them and making it theirs, taking what they want, revealing their true powers
And I think about Piper McLean, words the only weapons she needs, talking her way into and out of anything—brand new cars, penthouses on each coast, the rush of taking and having growing until she finds herself in bank vaults, finds herself talking herself out of handcuffs, walking free with a bag of cash over her shoulder and the sheriff’s keys in her pocket
Hazel, a metalsmith, a jeweler, the assassin nobody sees coming; Hazel, running her own business selling imported diamond rings by day and fist-sized rubies and nuggets of gold by night; Hazel, with a heavy heart but a safe full of money and a deal to be kept: her life for others’
And Frank, her assistant, carrying on his ancestors’ work—a protector, a shield against the storm, a confidant, choose the family you would die for but do not forget the blood in your veins—steadfast at her side whenever he is not in his mother’s armory, cleaning racks of weapons until they gleam
Leo, an arsonist, responsible for half the fires in the city throughout the year, taking it day by day; Nico, haunting graveyards, trying to get enough practice raising the dead; Rachel, stuck in an insane asylum by her father, raving about visions of the future
And Annabeth, who has taken charge of one of these groups, who rallies these demigods and hones their skills and points them where she needs them, troops underneath her fingers guided by the strings she pulls
Percy, numb, angry, who fights against the city that let his mother die; and Jason, by his side, who doesn’t care to fill in the gaps of his lost memory, who feels lightning in his veins and the wind under his feet and knows that he is alive
Reyna, lone wolf, who knows the rule better than anyone—aut vincere aut mori. Conquer or Die.
Someone make an AU roleplay out of this, guys. Seriously, cool and dark stuff! Criminals heroes as Mina puts it.
