DREAMWIDTH ROLEPLAY SECRETS: NOT JUST FOR DREAMWIDTH
Have some feels about your latest plot? Looking for castmates or games? Do you want to rp in a new fandom but you're not sure where to start? Are you not sure which writing tips to trust? Want to share with the world a story about your latest crazy tabletop shenanigans? Are you all of these things or none of them, but you want to vent about it somewhere using a graphic and some text? Look no further!
DWRPS is meant to be a logged in center for roleplayers to communicate with each other, advertise games, and have discussions about RP and fandom and everything in between.
The community will (hopefully) begin posting secrets on JANUARY 17TH. This means it needs help advertising, and for you to submit secrets!
Do I have to RP on Dreamwidth to post?
No. Your secret can be about anything from any rp format, as long as you follow the community rules. If you RP on forums and you want to post a secret, go ahead. IRC? Journal-based? Private chat? Skype? Doesn't matter, as long as it's RP and fandom related.
Do I have to submit secrets about just RP?
That's what the comm is for. As long as whatever you're posting about is somehow related to rp, you should be fine.
What if I want to keep my privacy?
If you want to make a secret, you don't have to take a screencap or go into explicit details. In fact, as per the rules, we'd rather you didn't. This comm is here for discussion and getting together, not tearing each other apart.
Can I advertise my game/dressingroom/musebox/PSL?
Sure. There will be a place in each post designated for game advertisement, and a new "RP With Me" post will go up each month.
What about anon drama?
Anonymous options are currently disabled on the Dreamwidth community. If you want to submit a secret, you must have a registered Dreamwidth account, but it doesn't have to be a character journal or your personal one. In fact, it's best if you used a sock journal (a journal that's used as a 'sock puppet' with no apparent link back to you).
How often will secrets be posted and how many each week?
If we have enough, around 25 each week. If we don't, it will be limited to 5-10. Posts will be made Saturdays (U.S. Eastern time) weekly.
Can I submit more than one secret?
Yes. However, the same poster spamming the secrets submissions post with secrets about the same thing is frowned upon and will really irritate the moderator.
Are there any particular rules I should worry about?
If you plan to be decent to people, no. However, you should still read the rules. They're there to help keep the community a relatively safe place to discuss roleplay and meet other roleplayers. Stupidity and harassment are not tolerated beyond a three-strike system.
What if I have certain triggers/things I find really upsetting?
Secrets of a triggering or very upsetting nature will be posted (provided they follow the rules) in their own section so you don't have to read them. These are extreme triggering subjects, such as rape, homicide, suicide, racism, etc.
How will you handle spoilers for newer fandoms and canon updates?
Secrets with spoilers will also have their own section.
