The design for Rolo's plushie is out!

Taken from FANSCLUB System Service's twitter post. It's kind of missing his hair thingie, or rather, the hair thingie's position is too high? He should have a hair thingie over his right ear (our left) more or less. Otherwise it looks very cute though. These plushies will release in Japan in November, but I believe you have to get them from claw machines.

To 20th

There was a "to 20th" Geass event a couple days ago, starring the voice actors of Lelouch (Jun Fukuyama), Rozé (Kouhei Amasaki) and Ash (Makoto Furukawa). I've been checking twitter comments and reports of fans who attended, and, at some point, apparently kind of out of nowhere, Rozé's voice actor asked FukuJun about his opinion on Rolo, and said that he (Amasaki) at first couldn't forgive Rolo but now wants to. FukuJun answered by first asking the audience to raise their hands if they didn't forgive Rolo, and only some people did. When he asked for those who did forgive Rolo to raise their hands, about 3/4 of the audience did, so people weren't just being shy! FukuJun then said that Daichuu kept calling him "Niisan" with a cute voice for years, so he can't help but feel a bond. This year almost completely went by already without any new Rolo in Lost Stories (😭), but there's going to be some "if" routes (or just one? I'm not sure) next year, and the announcement of the route(s) features, among other tragedies, the scene where Rolo dies (there's also Euphy, Shirley and Lelouch) followed by the message "If you are alive, then...", which sounds a lot like we are getting a route where Rolo doesn't die?? Please please please please but don't hire the bk shirley & rolo geagene writers kthx Also, currently people are voting for him to get a new KMF, so there's Rolo fans out there still! And I don't know much about Vtubers, but Takane Lui became an official Code Geass ambassador some months ago and, in her official introduction as such, she called herself a Lelouch and Rolo fan, and has claimed that Rolo is her favorite character. She's now going to show up in Super Robot Wars DD with a Vincent (not Rolo's Vincent, but nonetheless). Not that she has any power over what happens with the franchise, but I'm happy to have as many Rolo-supporting voices as possible!

It's been a while since I watched the series but I always felt like Rolo fell in love with Lelouch because he was able to have friends and family and held on to that normal life.

While Lelouch abused this trust and love a ton only to actually realize in the end he did care about Rolo and regrets all he did.

I think it's for sure a case that Rolo has never been treated with any kind of human connection or kindness, so having that to any degree kind of predisposes him to forming abnormally strong attachments. Lelouch's treatment of him (in my opinion) was definitely one of the more callous things he did - once the pretense was dropped and they were allies, he did not need to bait Rolo so hard into thinking he was cared for so much more than he was, and using that as a tool to make him easier to control and easier to sacrifice was cruel. Yes, in the end he was taken aback by how deep his feelings ran and how much it actually affected him when he died, but before that he was fully willing to use him as a kamikaze weapon.

It was never a healthy relationship, and it was never going to be. Rolo was, ultimately, an emotionally neglected and abused young man who latched onto the first person who ever showed him care- even if that care was (mostly) fake. That being said, that doesn't make his love for Lelouch any less real.
