“Wow pulled out all the stops already?” He raised his brows teasingly. “And taking her to the cabin. You’re whipped man” He snorted and reached over to scratch Dodger behind the ears. “Then start dating properly, lord knows you’re both not seeing other people”

“oh most definitely, it can definitely benefit you too later on when we’re… exercising.” zoe laughed while this time it was her turn to wiggle her eyebrows suggestively at him. she reached for one of the sandwiches and looked at him. “thankfully we’ll have all night for that.” she teased him back before taking a bite.

“Oh yeah I...definitely might’ve gotten a call to visit and check it out” He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. “To be fair the fire alarms are very sensitive” He pointed out and placed a hand over his chest. “Well I hope you’ll still need me” He teased

“okay and? isn’t that the fun part about life?” axel pointed out with a laugh. he raised an eyebrow at his reaction and tried hard not to laugh at it.  “no of course i’m not going to tell her this now. i don’t want to scare her away but i was just thinking that maybe the reason as to why my other relationships didn’t work was because i was always thinking about her and what could’ve been.” he admitted.

“Does Aine know about those fun parts” He wiggled his eyebrows with a laugh as he settled back into the couch again. “You really think that’s scare her away...because I’m pretty sure she’s in the same boat as you” He noted with a shrug. “I mean...I could’ve told you that”

“I think you’re the first person I’ve met in a long time that’s actually thought my job was cool instead of juvenile or fake. And you’re not aging yourself; I’ve met plenty of people my age that don’t know how to do things, either. And, honestly? half of them weren’t as nice as you are, so I think it can be forgiven.” She couldn’t help but chuckle at his comment, her head bobbing with an understanding. “Yeah, I know. And whenever he brings that up to me, I have to mention how ironic it is that he’s named after a bird that’s born from the ashes of a fire. That usually does the trick.”

“I would never thing that was fake. Just because others can’t explain it or wrap their mind around it...they just go labeling things as fake.” He shrugged before laughing a little. “Plus it’s clear you’re passionate about it, starting a whole website and all--that’s dedication. I’d never knock that sort of commitment” Atlas ran a hand through his hair. “He’s something else” a chuckle left his lips. “But he’s a good guy, good friend”

“well darling, i think it would be rather preposterous if we were to act and-no sorry i can’t keep doing this.” zoe broke down laughing after she put on her poshest english accent. “that was horrible, if anything you can speak romanian to me. that’s much better.” she smiled wide at him while she looked down at all the food. a small laugh fell from her mouth and she looked back up at him. “oh is that so? what do you want to do? hike all these mountains?” she joked.

Atlas laughed as she put on the accent, shaking his head at her. “Hmm...you think so?” His brows rose a little as he looked at her with a grin. “I’ll have to keep that in mind for later” He leaned back a little on his hands as she looked at all the food options. “Hmm...who knows really, lots of things to do” He eyed her teasingly.

“That’s just disrespectful” He placed a hand over his chest in feigned offence. “But we both know if you even got in you’d feel too guilty. You’ve always been the nicest of us Romanescu kids” He pointed out with a shrug. “Like I said I don’t know shit about women’s fashion. I just know when to compliment a woman on what she’s wearing” He noted.

“no, it’s like a wind tunnel. so you just walk in flat and then they turn it on and you fly.” she explained. “i would love to go real skydiving but the weather is just a little too unreliable for me at the moment. don’t want it to be cancelled because it’s raining or too windy.” she smiled when he agreed to go with her. “perfect. if you like it, maybe i’ll take you real skydiving with me.”

“Wow that’s gotta be like....a lot of wind” He noted with a laugh, running a hand along his jaw as he slowly nodded. “That’s fair, don’t wanna go getting hopes up for it to be storming the day of. Maybe you just gotta do a spontaneous one though, like ‘hey it’s a nice day out lets go jump out of a plane’ or something” He grinned

I know you’re into some weird shit too” He pointed out, lifting his beer to his lips before immediately choking and coughing loudly at Axel’s nonchalance with his next statement. “Wait for real?” He finally managed once he had gotten  a breath in. “Have you told her that yet?”

“i know right? it feels like i’m back home in england. should i use my posh accent?” zoe joked and blushed once again when he pushed her hair back. “no need to thank me. if anything i’m just happy that i got to try this, i was searching for a bunch of romanian food and everything looked delicious, so you need to cook me some of that one of these days.” she winked at him before looking down at the food he had brought. “oh this all looks so tasty,you’ll probably have to roll me out of here when we finish.” she giggled.

“Oh yes, go ahead anything to make it more authentic” He teased lightly and winked at her before opening various containers of sandwiches and pasta salads he had made. “Well...depending on how good dessert is we might be working it off” He wiggled his brows suggestively at her while laughing

“so i’m making an appointment for indoor skydiving. you in?” beck asked, turning to the person next to her. “or are you too chicken?” she teased.

“Indoor skydiving? How does that work, you climb up a bunch of stairs and jump?” He chuckled. “Why not real skydiving?” He shook his head. “Sounds pretty interesting either way, count me in”

When Adam held the elevator door to the other, he didn’t imagine how awkward the silence in there would become; and he would definitely not imagine that the elevator would get stuck on the third floor, leaving the two trapped there for some more minutes. Normally, he was a master of small talk but, in that afternoon, asking vague questions or saying unnecessary shit seemed like an impossible task for him. So, that would be the only reason why he went on to start a weird conversation with the other person. “Imagine if this was part of that silly elevator game”, he said, chuckling awkwardly. “We would be absolutely fucked.”

Atlas had never been one who needed conversation around him at all times, but he also never turned down some small talk now and then in passing with the other residents. So he didn’t mind when the younger man seemed to need to break the silence in the elevator. “Maybe not, as a firefighter I’m pretty good in all sorts of strange scenarios...although I don’t want to go jinxing it now”

axel raised an eyebrow surprised and laughed. “oh is that so? are the people at the palace aware of what you’re doing to their princess? you’d probably get beheaded.” he teased him while nudging his side. he let out a playful gasp when atlas said he could’ve gotten to aine first and shook his head. “nah i doubt it, the minute she walked in, we were dead set on each other and besides, we would’ve found our way back to each other nonetheless.” he pointed out being a big believer in the universe and its ways. “mmhm i love this grumpy attitude of yours as if i don’t see right through you.” he tease dhim again.

“Hey she enjoys it, no one can fault her for that” He snorted and shook his head before his brows rose. “And that’s because you’re hopelessly in love with her and have been since high school. I’ll prepare my best man speech and tux.” He grinned. “Shut up. You do not”

zoe blushed when he shot the compliment back at her and couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at the nickname because it had been a while since someone called her a lady although it was in a very different setting. “thank you my lord.” she winked at him before sitting down. “aww that’s sweet, i would’ve liked anything but thank you. as long as you still have apetite for dessert.” she smiled as she took the romanian cake out of the tupperware to show him. “does it look good?”

“Ooh look how formal we are, lord and lady” He teased softly as he raised a brow, looking over at the cake as she pulled it out. “Oh wow....that looks incredible.” His eyes widened. “I can’t remember the last time I had that” He smiled, “Thank you” He added, reaching up to tuck her hair behind her ear. “Now lets see what I made” He grinned, pulling the picnic basket in front of them

“Some kinda guns are blazing,” Nix affectionally patted Atlas’ bicep.  “Well, consider me your personal car guy from now on.  I can do it all - check her engine, change the oil.  I have the magic touch.”

Atlas laughed and nodded a little before lifting a shoulder. “Good, always good to have a personal car guy.” He chuckled. “And I’m your personal firefighter in the event that it’s needed...which hopefully isn’t often”

“for a firefighter, you should really embrace the whole stereotype about it. what about the ropes and the uniform? bo-ring.” axel teased him once again before reaching over to eat some of the appetisers. “i didn’t say that, i just wasn’t expecting her to look like that. you should’ve seen her on the night of the party…jesus.” he chuckled. he studied his expression for a moment before smirking. “mmhm sure, not terrible.i will be waiting for that best-man invitation soon okay?” he teased him. “but hey i’m proud of you for getting back out there, i really am.” he smiled.

“Hey, hey I didn’t say I don’t embrace that. I’m very good with ropes and shit” He noted and rolled his eyes. “I was otherwise occupied that night but who’s to say that if I hadn’t seen her there that I wouldn’t have moved in and got first dibs”He teased lightly. “Oh fuck off. There will be none of that” He smacked his arm before shrugging. “Thanks I guess” Atlas grumbled as he reached for the food
