“Yeah… she chuckled. “And it wouod be easier for me to settle everythig since now I’m off work…” She smiled.

“Doesn’t seem like a waste of time.” She was glad that it gave Natasha some sort of purpose while she was at home. “And you won’t go crazy while you’re healing.”
“Yeah…” She smiled, but whimpered as she accidentally jostled her arm. “Ouuuuch…” She said as she held it.
“You know the pain killer was supposed to have kicked in by now,” Pepper frowned. “You’re going to have to take it easy.”
She nodded, leaning back a bit. “I moved it, that’s why it’s hurting…” She smiled a bit and rubbed the sore spot gently
“No moving for you then. As hard as that sounds. That’s going to make sleeping very difficult.” Pepper twisted her mouth to one side. “Rest. Think of all the places you want to take me to.”
Natasha nodded, smiling. “I’ll try…” She said and lied down, holding her arm softly as she whined as it hurt again.
“Tell me more about Russia,” Pepper urged. “What am I getting myself into?”
“Well, it’s cold... But there’s the best vodka...” She said and bit her lip, thinking. “People are not usually nice, they don’t like americans so let me do the talk and we’ll be ok...” She said.
It was rare for Natasha and Pepper to fight, but sometimes they did. And as usual, Nat was sitting on the couch, feeling miserable, guilty for what she said to Pepper and just taking in what Pepper told her. She jumped and wiped her eyes when she heard steps.
@romanovatm
“Sorry,” she muttered, continuing to walk by. It wasn’t worth going through another row. “I didn’t mean to scare you,” just so they were clear on what she was apologizing for. “And I’m sorry that we got into it.”
Natasha nodded. “I will, I wouldn’t want to risk the boy’s lives because I’m not feeling well on a mission.” She said and pulled her phine to text Steve.
“It’s okay, you’re safe”

Natasha’s whole form shook as she gripped her head, wanting to get that image out of her mind as she could feelherself starting to wheeze.
It was just a ballet concert at the local theater, Natasha thought she’d be ok with that, she did missed being a ballerina, but she had no idea one single choice of clothes from one of the ballerinas would cause such severe reaction on herself as she now fought to erase the abuse from her memory. Pepper had noticed when Nat suddenly paled after one of the presentations and was ready to guide the woman over to their car before Natasha started panicking.
Now she found herself lying on the reclined passenger’s seat, on her side with her knees pressed to her chest and her hands still clutching her head, desperately trying to forget the abuse so fresh in her mind.
“Yeah.... But it’s weird, I guess I’m not used to be treated right...” She chuckled and shook her head with a smile.

On the next day, Nat woke up late, seeming a little off. She was tired and her whole body ached. “Morning babe…” She said as she came into the kitchen. “How was your night?”
“Morning, Honey. It was okay. You came home. We’re okay. Right? Coffee?” Pepper pointed to the fancy coffeemaker on the counter.
Natasha smiled. “Of course I did, I love you...” She smiled and sat down, rubbing her eyes. “Yes, please...” She said and rubbed her temples. “Hmm I’m not feeling very good today...” She murmured.

Nat grimaced. “I don’t like hearing Tony and husband on the same sentence when it comes from you…” She said and chuckled weakly as she shook her head. “Well I can’t ignore that you two work together, and I trust you so…” She smiled.
“What? You’ve never heard that term before?” Pepper laughed. “There is always one person at one’s work that is your go to person. Tony is that person for me. You are my home wife. I come home to you and only you. It’s a partnership.”
“Well, then I guess Steve’s my work husband…” She said. “And you are my home wife..” She smilrd at Pepper and kissed her cheek.
“See? You do get it,” Pepper nodded. “Steve’s a good work husband. I never have to worry about you…most of the time. I know that his life is in danger too when you go out on missions.”
She smiled, nodding. “Yeah, he’s a good friend, and we keep each other safe, always...” She smiled and kissed her lips. “Like we do..”

Natasha sighed, nodding softly against her as she was still upset and sniffled again. “I’m sorry, Pepper… you deserve more…” She sighed.
“So do you, Babe.” Pepper rubbed Natasha’s back. “But, as things are, we’re stuck with each other,” she tried to laugh.
Natasha sighed and sniffled against her chest. “I guess so...” She chuckled weakly too and she nuzzled her more, she soon fell asleep against her lover’s arms.

“Who am I?” The question got her attention as she sat up, a frown on her face. “Who am I….?” She repeated, the frown still present as she thought. “I… I’m Natasha, I… I’m an Avenger, and… and I’m your girlfriend…” She smiled.
@romanovatm
“Good enough for me.” Pepper said proudly. “Or too good for me, rather.”
“Oh it’ll be amazing! I’ll take you to the nicest places!!” She chuckled with a smile, already excited. “I’ll make a list of plaves we have ti see, and foods we need to eat, and…” She said as she started to pace.
Normally, Pepper would have been the one to plan and pace around with all kids of ideas. It was a breath of fresh air to watch Natasha be excited about it.
“Sounds good, Babe.”
“It will be, you’ll see..” She smiled happily as she went to get the ice for her arm. “We migt have to wait until my arm heals though…” She smiled a bit.
“That would make traveling hard. Wouldn’t it?” Pepper nodded. “It’ll give us time to plan. I’ll have time to request time off. It’ll be great.”
“Yeah... she chuckled. “And it wouod be easier for me to settle everythig since now I’m off work...” She smiled.

Natasha sighed as she stayed quiet for a while before she moved inside the room, quietly changing and climbing into bed with Pepper silently. She wasn’t sure if Pepper wanted to be held so she just stayed still. Her own eyes shinning with tears as she bit her lip to keep herself from sobbing.
Turning over, Pepper pulled Natasha to her chest. “What’s wrong now? We have to talk about it. Tomorrow is a new day. I would like this to be resolved. Okay?”
“I…” The things both said were hurtful and Natasha was feeling bad for what she said and what she heard. “I’m not a good person, Pepper… I… I’m not good for you, I’m not good for anybody…” She shook her head as she grew quiet, noe trusting herself to speak without her voice quivering.
“You don’t think I don’t regret what I said too, Nattie?” Pepper pressed her face to Natasha’s back. “I’m sorry, Honey. I’m sorry for everything that I said. If you weren’t good for me, you wouldn’t be here.”
“You shouldn’t.. You didn’t lie..” She murmured, sighing. She shook her head and just turned around, hiding her face on Peppers chest as she subbed weakly.
“Lie? What did you lie about?” That was a new revelation.
“I lied when I told you I hater you, and... And all the rest...” She murmured as she brougt one hand up to wipe her eyes. “I’m sorry about what I said...” She said and sobbed again
