Back in the middle of 2018 I mentioned an Art Exhibition that I attended with my classmates, the theme chosen by my professor was OSAMU TEZUKA, one the notable precursors of Modern Manga (Japanese Graphic Novel). And the work of his that I chosen was Hi no Tori (Phoenix) since it's very obscure here in Brazil
These are characters from the Dawn Saga/Chapter which I used some panels as references. The ideia was to came up with something similar anime movie poster, so I used the famous floating bodies recipe as example from one of my favorite animated movies, Conqueror of Shamballa. It wasn't supposed to seem similar, it was just an isnpiration afterall.

My drawing for the recent exhibition. Since I made an B&W/nankin in 2018, I wanted to go outside my comfort zone and try something COLORFUL. The theme this time was CLAMP, a group formed by dazzling artist women responsable for frachises as Cardcaptor Sakura, Tsubasa, xxxHOLIC, Kobato, X, Tokyo Babylon, Magic Knight Rayearth and other marvelous works.
And one of the works I was most interested it's know as CLAMP SCHOOL DETECTIVES(Clamp Gakuen Tandeidan) and the subject of the artwork was the boio Nokoru Imonoyama
Honestly my intention from the beginning was to draw him without knowing a thing about the character - except by visual. So basically the objective was to capture the characters's essence without reading a single issue of the work he came from. That's right the characters, I planned to draw 3 arts originally, one for each of the boys of the main cast, but I kinda ended up procrastinating in the middle of the road 😅
I wanted a Dusk in The Beach ambience, so the boy could enjoy the cozy sweet brezees of the coastal summer with a igniting twilight sky full of tenderness above him - and an orange juice of course
Oh, and I used Kelly Rowland pose and the scenario from video clip "Dilemma" as reference, cause I thought it would fit perfectly ^^
