He wakes up early in the mornings to make you breakfast <3

He has a list of all of your favorite things. Foods, artists, colors, animals, everything. If you mention liking something once, it’s documented in his brain and taken into consideration for the future.

He leaves you little notes and gifts around the house, just simple things that express how much he loves you.

For your anniversaries he plans little scavenger hunts for you to go on, they’re always really well thought out and sweet.

Gushes about you to everyone who will listen. It's always “My S/O this” or “My S/O that”. If anyone gets annoyed they can suck it because the day he stops talking about you will be the day he dies.

Very, very clingy. He always has to be touching you in some way, or he gets agitated. Cuddles with him are the best. He’s so warm and nice to hug.

Very possessive and jealous. If anyone does so much as LOOK at you in the wrong way, he’s dragging you away. In his mind, you’re his and only his.

He’d go to great lengths to protect you/show his love. He would, quite literally, kill for you. And probably has.

“Have I mentioned I love youuu?” and “You’re the best, Y/N. I love everything about you!” are the most common things to hear from him.

Keeps a locket with your picture in it with him at all times. Seeing your face is enough to calm him down. He looks at the locket when he’s feeling down and needs some encouragement.

Has a secret shrine of your things that he took. Just small things that you wouldn't care about or notice, but he loves them dearly.

Transferring to a new school is never easy, especially in the middle of the year. Your nerves raced on the car ride to your brand new High School, and you were on the verge of tears as you got out. You no longer had any friends to protect you or stand up for you, you were alone. Your stomach filled with dread as you glanced at all of the unfamiliar faces, they weren't welcoming or warm; they were judgmental and cruel.

Entering the large double doors, you asked a geeky-looking lanky boy for directions to the office. He seemed caught off guard, but he was the nicest person you had met so far. You quickly thanked him and headed to where he pointed.

“Hi, um, I’m new and I need my schedule,” you sounded so unsure, it was mildly pathetic. Sat behind the desk was a woman in her mid-40s if you had to guess. She looked up, pushing the bifocals up the bridge of her nose before clearing her throat. “Name and grade?” her head was cocked to the side slightly, she looked so uninterested. You gave her the benefit of the doubt, it was 7 am on a Monday, in the middle of the year. You’d probably be the same if you were in her place. “Oh! Uhm, yeah I’m a senior, last name L/N” your hands were shaking slightly, and you felt blood rush to your face.

She handed you a piece of paper, fresh off the printer. She mumbled something to the Assistant Principal about getting a kid from class to show you around, but you weren't paying enough attention. You peered down at your schedule, you’d really need that tour of the school. You sighed, not looking forward to the rest of the day.

Interrupting your little pity party came the boy from earlier, the one who directed you to the office. You assumed he would be the one giving the tour, and your suspicion was further proved when he introduced himself to you. “I’m Klitz, and I’ll be showing you around, I guess.” One of his hands was rubbing the back of his neck, while the other was extended for you to shake. He gave an awkward smile, and you admired how pretty he was. You shook your head lightly and broke the awkward silence. “I’m glad it’s you showing me around, and not one of those other people,” you regretted your words as soon as you said them. “The popular ones, I mean! They seem rude like they’re better than everyone y’know? I can’t stand that.” You stared at your shoes, one hand gripping the strap of your backpack, the other holding your schedule. Klitz, as you learned his name was, was wordless. He admired how easily you were able to speak your mind. He thought it was awesome how you spoke like you didn’t care, it also helped that he wholeheartedly agreed with you.

You continued on the tour, it taking all of the first period, not that you minded. You enjoyed hearing him speak, pointing to all of the classrooms, and hallways. You ended up having the majority of your classes with him, all but your elective periods. He walked you to the second period and invited you to sit with his friends at lunch, you appreciated his offer and gratefully accepted. Little did you know, he had already fallen face-first for you.

Second period went by fairly quickly, you had to introduce yourself to the class, though, which was more than embarrassing. You had next period with Klitz, so you had something to look forward to. The lanky boy was waiting for you when the bell rang, ready to walk to your next class. On the way, you talked about life, where you moved from, friends and family. Just general things to get to know each other, he seemed really cool. You arrived at math class and found a seat near Klitz. You latched onto him like a lost puppy, but he didn't mind. You didn’t know anyone else and you weren’t the best at socializing. He introduced you to one of his friends, his name was Matt, and he seemed like a pretty normal guy. Apparently, he’d gotten into Georgetown and was writing some speech for a scholarship program.

“L/N, care to introduce yourself to the class?” Mr. What’s-his-face asked, inducing a feeling of horror. You looked over at Klitz and Matt, wide-eyed. “No sir, I don’t think they would,” Matt put it so respectfully. You could talk to people you knew with no problem, and even people you didn't on occasion, but you had a severe problem with authority figures. You mouthed a quick ‘thank you’ to Matt, and the teacher continued on with his lesson.

To be completely honest, you didn’t really understand it. They were at a different unit than your previous school, and you were lost. You shrugged it off, you’d ask someone to explain later. It couldn’t be that difficult. Much of the same routine continued up to lunch; Klitz walked you to your next class, you spaced out until the bell, and repeat. At lunch, you met another one of Klitz and Matt’s friends, Eli. He was a loud, aspiring director. He was more straightforward than Matt and Klitz, and you related to him on that. Matt and Eli kept looking over at you and Klitz weirdly, but you two were in your own little worlds. You were going off about some comic book things, things that they didn’t completely understand.

They could see the way Klitz looked at you, he had fallen for you; and hard at that. And the weirdest part, you seemed equally as interested. No one had ever looked at Klitz like that! Let alone someone as kind as you. They just looked at each other and smirked, they’d find a way to get you two together; one way or another. “So, Y/N, you dating anyone?” Eli asked, getting straight to the point. “Eli!” Matt hit his shoulder, “What? We were all wondering it!” he looked offended, but you just laughed. “No, no, it's fine! I don’t mind,” you assured Matt and Klitz, “And to answer your question, no. I’m not dating anyone.” You just smiled, this felt right. You felt normal, for once.

"Bro, you are so down bad!” The guys met up at Klitz’s house after school, as they usually did. Currently, Klitz was being teased for his very obvious crush on the newest member of their friend group. They meant no harm, obviously, but it was fun to playfully make fun of each other. It’s not like they hadn’t done it before. “So, you gonna bone them?” Eli made more offhand remarks, as usual. “Don’t talk about them like that! Besides, I just met them! It’s not like that,” Matt and Eli just rolled their eyes, not believing him one bit. “I’m just saying, if it isn't like that now, then it will be soon! C’mon man, we’re hormonal teenagers, it’s only natural!” Eli pressed further, much to everyone's annoyance. “Enough of this conversation, let's just play something.” Klitz crossed his arms, fighting back the urge to kick them out of his house and into the rain, but he knew he couldn’t do that. He isn’t that petty. Well, not yet.

He tried to focus on the TV, but he couldn’t stop thinking about you. From the moment he saw you, he knew he’d fall in love. You treated him so kindly, and you seemed genuinely interested in everything he said. And you didn’t use him just to get the homework, which he greatly appreciated. You were so welcoming, and not to mention pretty. He just wanted to kiss you, and he’d just met you. Everything about you he loved, he was in for a long week for sure. He feared tomorrow, hoping he wouldn’t mess up his words, or say the wrong thing. He didn’t even know if you’d ever feel the same way. It was stupid to fantasize, but he couldn’t help it. You were like a magnet, you drew him towards you. You were electric, melodic, like a violin.

The guys left, eventually. And he just stood up in his room, staring into the dark, dark sky. It was late, and he needed to go to sleep, but he couldn’t get his mind to calm down. You occupied his mind, intoxicating his thoughts.

Could this be love at first sight, or should I walk by again?

Warnings: Angst with no happy ending, sadness. Choking, and death. Inspired by Gotham Ed’s storyline.

"Eddie, you're sick. You need serious help-" tears pricked your eyes as you spoke to your once-lover. You’d never expected this from your Eddie, he was always so sweet, so soft-spoken. Never in your mind would you have imagined he could take a life.

“No, no, no! You’re failing to see how much good I'm doing! These people were corrupt, they were no good!” He grabbed your face, wiping your tears gently. He thought you were different, smarter than the other; but as it turns out, you were weaker than he thought.

You struggled, trying to release yourself from his grasp. But he held firm, refusing to let you go that easily. “Ed, please let me go. I- I won’t tell anyone! Just let me go,” you sobbed harder with every word. You hoped this was all a dream, no, a nightmare. That you’d wake up in a second and everything would be back to normal.

Suddenly, Ed’s grasp moved from your face and down to your throat. His hands wrapped around your neck, cutting off your oxygen in hopes of knocking you out. You gasped for air, trying to get a coherent sentence out; but you couldn't. Your ears rang and you felt oddly calm. You made peace with your demise.

You always had a distaste for life, joking that you’d die before you were 30. Eddie changed that, though. When you met him he changed everything. He gave you a reason to keep going, to keep living. He gave you life, and now he was taking it away. You shut your eyes, smiling gently as your mind went blank, and you felt numb.

Edward sobbed as he held you on the ground. He never wanted to hurt you, he promised you he’d protect you. But you interrupted his plans, you were foolish. No better than the other. Part of him felt you had deserved it, you got what was coming to you. You mess with the Devil and you get burned, right?

Wrong. He was oh so wrong.

Love Letters-Klitz Pt. 3

Pairing: Klitz x GN!Reader

He reached his hand into the light grey windbreaker that wrapped itself around his body, and out of it, he pulled a letter. The letter that you wrote. Unfolding it gently, he handed it to you, his hands shaking slightly. You knew he was afraid you wouldn’t get anything from it, he wanted to know who wrote it. Hell, if you were in his place you would feel the same way. But you couldn't lead him right to you.

Starting at the paper in your hands, you were conflicted. On one hand, you had your best friend. He needed your help, he needed closure. But giving him that could jeopardize everything. You could lose a decade of friendship, and you just couldn’t risk that. But if you didn’t look at the letter, he’d become suspicious. So many thoughts ran through your head, so many opposing ideas and outcomes, but you looked down at the note. You read through it once again, pretending as if it was your first look at it, though you knew every line, every word, and every emotion that went into the creation. “The Rose? Interesting, yeah. Do you have any ideas as to who this ‘Lover’ person might be?” You looked up at him, your eyebrows raised slightly. He looked down and shook his head with disappointment. “Well, it’s really not much to go off of, I’m sorry. Maybe if you get another one I can try again?” You truly did feel bad, it hurt you to lie to him. You placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a pat on the back, placing the letter back into his hands.

“Thanks for trying, I appreciate it” he looked up from his lap, facing you. You simply just nodded a small smile on your face. He unpaused the TV and turned up the volume a bit, much to the annoyance of his mother. The host on the TV went off about some not-very interesting facts about a breed of shark that you, quite frankly, didn't care enough to know the name of. You would have fallen asleep on the couch if it weren’t for the sound of Klitz’s dad coming home. He was a tall and slender man, much like Klitz himself. The resemblance was undeniable, for sure. He was soft-spoken, polite, and often underestimated. He worked a job in an office as some marketing agent, you weren't exactly sure what his official title was. He gave a small polite wave to you and pushed up the square frames on his face. ‘I guess bad vision runs in the family’.

After the documentary ended, Klitz’s mom called everyone into the kitchen for dinner. You appreciated her cooking, she was amazing at it. You always joked that she should quit her 9 to 5 and become a professional chef, which she found amusing. “So, did anything interesting happen at school today?” Marie spoke up, breaking the silence at the table. It wasn’t uncomfortable, as silence often was, it was more comforting if anything. You and Klitz turned to look at each other as if to say ‘Should we tell her?’, you cleared your throat and shook your head quietly. “Not really, I mean not anything of note, I suppose,” Klitz was always better at talking than you, or at least when he knew the person he was speaking to. “The food’s amazing, as usual, Marie!” you admired her, she was so sweet and talented. She was more of a mother to you than even your own.

Dinner went by with few complications, as it usually did in their household. It was refreshing, truth be told. You helped out with the dishes and headed upstairs to Klitz, making sure you didn’t trip this time. Little did you know, you were being followed by the family cat, Remy. You opened up the door to Klitz’s bedroom and closed it behind you, letting Remy inside in the process. “Aw, hey little guy! How are you?” you kneeled and pet the soft Ragdoll cat. He rubbed against your hand, licking it gently. Klitz admired the two of you from his bed, you were always good with animals. Remy jumped up onto Klitz’s bed with a small meow, signaling for you to join him. You obliged, of course. Who were you to turn down such an adorable face?

You felt serene, totally, and completely at peace. Never had you felt as calm as you did at this moment. You sat with a kitty curled up in your lap, with the boy you loved laying at your side. Even if you were just friends, nothing more, nothing less; you still valued this moment more than anything.

“Thank you,” it came out of nowhere, and startled Klitz, but you meant it. “For what?” he was puzzled, he hadn’t done anything worth thanks, had he? All he was doing was laying there, silently at that. “Well, I don't know, for existing, I guess.” you sighed, explaining was never your strong suit. “You’ve made high school tolerable. Without you, I don't know what I would’ve done.” your words meant more to Klitz than he showed, you were his favorite person. He didn’t show it much, but the times he did were wonderful. “Of course, Y/N. It’s the least I could do. We’ve always been there for each other, I mean hell, we’re even going to the same college!” you laughed, he was right. It was the least he could do, but when you live your life being given less than the bare minimum, it means a lot when you get it.

You fell asleep with Remy and Klitz at your side, the only thing on your mind being them. You recited the poem in your head as you drifted off, The Rose.
