can someone from Spain call themself a Bruja? Is Bruja only for latines? Asking for a friend
I have a controversial opinion on this topic, especially as a Cuban with Spanish, indigenous, and African ancestry. I believe that yes, someone from Spain can identify as a Bruja. It's important to recognize that the terms Bruja and Brujería originate from Spain, and Spanish is a language that developed in Europe.
However, just because someone calls themselves a Bruja and claims to practice Brujería(Folk Magic Context) (which I hope is specifically referring to Brujería from Spain/España) does not automatically mean they are involved in Latin American folk magic,
I know an indigenous Guanche Tumblr user who identifies as Bruja. They live in the Canary Islands, which are considered Spanish territory unfortunately (I hope they gain independence soon, Islas canarias libre!)
As a point of clarification, if you practice Spanish folk magic, please stay within the traditions of Brujería Castellaño/Española. If you are from the Canary Islands, then your practice would be Brujería Canaria.
Silent architects of rot and bloom, weavers in the forest gloom. Threads unseen through earthly veins, conjure life from death’s remains.
In dampened hush where roots entwine, they speak in tongues of arcane kind. A fleeting kingdom, soft yet grand— the ghostly breath of ancient land.

Reminder....
Let yourself be cringe in your worship!!!
The Gods don’t find you embarrassing. The Gods don’t care about seeming cool and professional for the approval of others.
Make that fucking aesthetic photo collage for Aphrodite with cute pics you found on Pinterest .
Dress up like Hermes and go for a damn walk.
Collect random stones you think are cool and put them on your altar.
Put that photo of that cartoon character that reminds you of your deity on your altar.
Make that Minecraft temple to Hekate, domesticate those damn Minecraft wolves for Cerberus.
Make your deities in the sims!
Write soppy melodramatic poetry for Dionysus that no one else will read.
Make self insert fanfics about your favourite Gods and write them all as your best friends. Let them interact with your edgy ocs.
Create an AU where you and your Gods are all characters from your favourite anime.
Record silly little songs for them
Make them paintings that are full of clashing colors and weird forms.
Draw them a fursona
Wear that bright yellow outfit for Apollon.
Put on a dramatic makeup look for Aphrodite.
Call your closest deity that silly little nickname you have for them and let them call you one too.
Share your special interests with your Gods. Design your God as a pokémon or a crystal gem, or a sonic character.
Those losers that try to make you feel bad for being passionate will never have what you have.

first thing in the morning—take three slow deep breaths (air/sky) more grounding than immediately checking a phone
notice your feet on the ground taking root when you stand up for the first time of the day, take a little stretch (earth/land)
wash or splash your face to get alll the way awake. then chug a big glass. (water/sea)
appreciate any trees, plants, dirt, or clouds you see
place both hands on your heart to feel your own heat and warmth. feel your heart beating. “i am alive” (fire)
wear or carry a rock, hagstone, crystal, talisman, or amulet
in times of stress or dissociation, rub your thumb in small circles on the back of your other hand to ground and soothe. (clockwise for attracting an intention, counterclockwise for banishing)
color magic with clothing
add cinnamon, lavender, or peppermint to coffee according to intention if you don’t want to drink tea
stirring tea/coffee according to intention
sometimes i pick a little affirmation for the day— “may i forgive myself” “the universe is within me/the wild is within me”
visualization—inhale a bright light and let it fill your lungs, exhaling clouds of negativity
or create a shield with breathing. with each breath, imagine a bubble forming around your body, then your aura, growing with strength.
cleansing shower at the end of the day (intending it to cleanse my aura makes me more motivated to take one, idkw)
if taking a bath, add a dash of moon water
sniff lavender essential oil before bed
look at the moon, talk to it. remind yourself that it’s the same one your ancestors knew.
