Hal offered the woman a smile, grabbing a small booth and dropping down into it, “You’ve been here a few times that I’ve come in.” He said, shifting and leaning back, “Don’t worry- I won’t be much of a hassle. I’m just as tired as you probably are. Just a water will be fine, thanks.”
The beta furrowed her eyebrows slightly, more surprised than actually confused though the expression could be taken for either. “Are you sure?” It was rare that people ordered something that simple when coming into the diner. Especially after a long day. “It’s really no trouble if you want something more than that.” Was Rory tired? Of course. But she could soldier through and do her job. She always had before.
